And MWO will not work with 1:1 armor values.
SRM have to be guided too (SSRM should have a more complex - forecast guiding system)

Everyone keeps saying that which is why I asked why. I am curious as to what made them change their minds on this. I wasn't able to play when it as a 1:1 ratio so I don't know what it was like.

SRMs are a weird bag. They run the same targetting system as LRMs. I think they should have a lock and run the exact same randomness I describe for LRMs whereas the SSRMs would hit 100% of missiles fired. So for example:

SRM6 obtains lock and is fired off. The convergence allows for the missiles to be broken up into 3 pairs and determines how many randomly cause damage just like the LRMs would.

SSRM2 is fired off and both missiles are guaranteed to hit and cause damage. That's the trade off. You are limited to the number of missiles you can pop off with streaks and ammo restrictions but no that your missiles will all cause damage.

I didn't played eighter but i think that the dual armor composition was suitable during closed beta while weapon was limited through shs and no lightweight components but XL.

however raising numbers in weapons and the ability to keep there heat at acceptable level make double armor a joke mostly during the reign of the PPC.

regarding TT armor it is based on 2dice 6 sided
a 7 with ~17% is the cg frontal or the left or right torso from the left or right
other numbers and hitlocation fall in line.

even with a good of defense movement regarding torso twisting I don't think the numbers of hits comes near the hut table of tt.
so a system based on roll if 2d6 could hardly transfered into 1d10 or 3d6 without problems.
I don't even have to think about a system were you can choose the location you hit.

maybe possible when enemy Mech shut downand I have a targeting computer on board than it is automatically a hit at location of choice.

I don't know did you played TT when it was possible to make aimed shots with targeting computer?

the most munchkin Mech was warhawk C UK with 4 large pulse lasers in a 1 on 1 the pilot did loose who rolled the 2 instead of anything else.

so there were options in tt where 1:1 armor Wasn't enough - and you really ask to make 1:1 in mwo?

I'm near to 100% that not even with Tt rof and damage value and currently hit distribution 1:1 is enough

last sentence have made small program you need about 70 shots with PPC to bring an Atlas down in tt - 100 for a Jenner
In Mwo we talk about 20-23 for the atlas - can't say about thr Jenner

Sry, complete ********. I just lost a good shaped internal shoulder with no enemy in front of me on my Orion and full armor on my back without that armor being touched.

The internal struckture seems to be bugged. Not to forget that shots create no cockpitshake and paperdolls don't seem to update.

These are potential bug issues and not a reason to be messing with armor or internal structure. It's a reason to look for and identify bugs.
