i would also like to mention that i am no maths buff, so if the math seem OP, but the idea is good, perhaps the values could be changed.
Here's the idea:
for every external heatsink you have, your heatsink efficiency improves a little.
Single heatsinks (1.0x efficiency)
- every external unit adds ~0.05 to the efficiency, to a maximum of 1.5x or maybe even 2.0x
- for e.g. trying to get it to 2.0x efficiency would require 20 external SHS, which should be a hard target to hit.
- every external unit adds ~0.1 to the effiency, to a maximum of 2.0x
Each Single heat sink equipped on a mech cools it by 0.1 heat/sec and increases its maximum heat threshold by 1 [taken from http://mwo.gamepedia.com/Heat_Sinks]
with my proposal each addition external heatsink will have (additive/multiplcative?) values
- 1 external SHS = 0.1 heat/sec
- 2 external SHS = 0.15 heat/sec
- 3 external SHS = 0.20 heat/sec
- so on and so forth...
- 3 external SHS will grant a total of 0.6 heat/sec
I would also like to state that all maths was made under the assumption that the baseline efficiency for SHS and DHS are 1.0x and 1.4x respectively,
- therefore 1 + (20 x 0.05) = 2
- and 1.4 + (6 x 0.1) = 2 [whereby adding 6 external DHS can be quite tough when considering endo-steel structure and/or ferro-fibrous armor]
p.s i am aware there are some who wants the heat sink efficiency to be returned to their true values, but the way the heat system is now, i believe that this would make a decent proposal, but that is only my single opinion.
please criticise and discuss
did some editing to move up the post from a reply
