I'm going to put this out there. I think that all accounts should come with a total of 12 mech bays. After that if you want more then fine charge MC for them, but I really think 12 free mech bays instead of 4 is the right way to go. I've already got 28 mech bays, I'm not worried about it for myself, but I feel it can become a wall to people who are interested in the game but come up against this and then walk away.

Six, or maybe Eight, total should be fine.

6 at the absolute most. F2P doesn't mean free for everything in the game. 12? Is that really a serious suggestion? What's your basis for 12???? No, PGI has ONE item that is extremely reasonably priced and that's mech bays. If you want more mechs in your hangar drop a few bucks.....

If you play the game long enough to buy more than four mechs then it's only fair that you give the devs some money.

Plus mechbays are the only reasonably priced thing in the game.

Like the others say- 6 would be good. Just enough to continually swap out Mechs to level up a chassis while keeping a couple of your favorite Mechs around.

it should be 6, and no more than that. enough bays to master 2 mechs is a good spot imo.

id say 7 is the right number. 7 mechbays gives you atleast 2 elited mechs plus 1 more space to try out another mech.

I see a combination of the factors above posters have mentioned.

6 Mechbays actually sounds perfect for me, you can play with each weight class and have a mastered mech chassis without stepping into the MC needed game.

However, by the time you manage to fill 4 Mechbays you've probably got a good idea of if you want to keep playing. If so, I see investing a small amount of money into the game as appropriate. Mechbays are quite reasonably priced, and as a F2P game that's still expanding (albeit slowly) they do need reliable income for server costs if nothing else.

NO.

4 is plenty to level up one chassis to Master and enjoy the game for FREE.

F2P model does not mean you get premium content for free. It just means you can play the game at its most basic level.

For a free to play game it's a good idea to have people play instead of doing the decision to quit or pay.

6 always seemed like a better number to me. Just my personal opinion. People who spend money aren't going to magically stop because you gain 2 mech bays. I understand they need to make money I just always thought 6 would be the perfect number given how the game works.

I think they should keep it at 4 free bays.

But then don't be so fricking stingy with awarding players another one for a tourney or something. That way only active players get the stuff.

I've had like 5 weapon slots for free over time from warframe devs AND about $15-20 of the premium currency which I used for extra frame and weapon slots. Don't even play the game much and I gave them some money anyway.

I think instead of offering more than 4 mech bays, they should allow players to try any trial (stock only) mech in the game in the Testing Grounds. This would allow players to make informed decisions on the mechs they buy and incentivize them to purchase MC for more bays.

I agree. Unlockable mechbays and small amounts of MC would not hurt the game.

i would say 8 my logic for this is, i like to try out new mechs and level em up if i like them, as the current (and very annoying) system of use 3 variants of 1 mech to unlock higher tiers, if you trick out just 2 mechs and start on a 3rd you already run out of room, with the average vote going at 6 8 would allow 5 mechs with unwanted variants sold then a 6th mech to be started which would be easier to allow newbies to just try whatever feels good without being cramped.

I voted NO : 12 is too much.
I agree with the majority : 6 is the perfect number, 3 when you create your account and 3 more when you complete the tutorial.
