Whenever a new mech comes out there is always a thread, the title of which contains both the name of the mech and some mention of the Center Torso.



So... what do you guys think? Is it going to be a big target? I think piloting the Dragon for so long has given me a touch of Anorexia by proxy: That slightly protruding gut is making me imagine torso twisting away from an enemy and still getting cored...

On the other hand, those uh... "assets" on either side seem like they might provide a fair amount of protection... but you'd think something similar about the Awesome and it's low hanging jugs, but we all know how that turned out.

Here's hoping we end up with a nice, narrow CT.

I, for one, look forward to stomping lots of little green locusts.

... and I hope it doesn't run too hot.

The crotch will be gigantic and unshieldable for sure, which gives people a straight shot at your CT hitbox because PGI likes to make crotches a part of the CT for some odd reason. The sides we'll have to wait and see on. Hopefully they're just small enough to allow XL engines for crazy fast speeds, and just large enough so that the mech isn't a walking CT and is good at spreading damage.

I suspect it will be pretty big. However, will reserve judgment on all the new mechs till I play them.

Big head, that will all be CT. Huge crotch and butt. The center itself looks pretty well protected by the battlemaster's ASSETS.

Yea... that's what I figured.

See, if the engine caps are lifted a little bit for the Jenner and Spider... the Locust is doomed. The Commando and Raven won't get any faster according to the basic engine cap rules...
