For example today, I joined a match. Got distracted by the wait on ready so I went to do something and came back real quick and a few members on my team were very unhappy with me and the minute the game started friendly fire came my way. Once I finished slaying trolls I decided it was time to say something on the forums about this because its something I see more and more every game. Please remove the ready feature for pug play. It serves no purpose. By clicking the launch button you are saying you are ready. In group play a ready button is essential. Anyways let me know if other online players are experiencing some of the same negativity due to this.
Edit: Yes, I totally spelled Environment wrong.... go figure lol
Its not the ready buttons fault its the people you get teamed with its just an excuse for disgusting anti social behaviour, take screen shots write a ticket and report them

that's funny because I never had games launch with only 11 players on a team until they added the ready button.
lucky you, it happens frequently to me and still does, but I can recall three times, when the ready button allowed a 12th person to join.
If I don't see 12 names up I never push the button.
when you think of the average age of Mechwarrior players the behaviour is pretty terrible (but its still better than any other PvP game I've played in)
With the pugs I've been in the last three weeks i'm quite glad of the ready button it gives the illusion of a team that has a clue for those precious seconds more, then the game starts and hopes are dashed.
Why I never play assault with lights now, at least I hav a chance to win with noob assault/heavies but I digress

This is the way to go - we are considerate enough to understand about your kids, etc....heck I too have them, and understand stuff happens. However, have the same consideration for others you want others to show you. Take 5 seconds, hit ready, then walk away and be afk from your game so the other 23 can get on with it.

60 seconds over 60 matches is an hour. I play at least that many if not more in a week. So that is an hour I lose of what is limited gaming time I would prefer to be playing.
An hour lost...may not immediately seem like much, but when you would like to play having to wait on the person who clearly hit launch to start the game and THEN walked away to take care of some business making others wait tops my list of being inconsiderate.
Do your business before you want to get in to a game. Make your sandwich, take your bathroom break...smoke, get a drink, whatever.
Is it too much to ask that you actually be ready and click launch only when you are really ready to go immediately in to a game and can hit the ready button once loaded? Simple concept in my mind.

The ready screen was put into the game not long ago, you think they are ignoring this problem? They're fixing it, but it is not that easy. Do it yourself if it's so easy!

That said, I fail to see what, if anything, the Ready button has added to the game. I feel that it was an unnessary step that only exascerbates this issues with impatient and impolite gamers.
Oh, maybe a team or lance are busy text chatting about a plan or strategy? Maybe they are NOT ready yet? But having the button means all those that raged about not being able to setup a plan (no time, no lobby, etc), now have to deal with all those raging about having to wait a few seconds in the "Ready Lobby."
Its especially funny when the ragers are all up in arms, shouting threats and bile, when the MM hasn't fully formed the teams. There is no amount of button pushing that will make that happen faster.
Oh well.

Lol an hour over 7 days. Again it's 60 seconds. Nothing more nothing less.

I play that many games in a sitting. I never have to wait out the timer in every match I play in a day. Real life happens to some people after they hit the launch button. Get over it.

Planning happens in 1% of pub games, and is followed or worthwhile even less, pretending this is even a factor is laughable.

I personally dont know why we have a ready button as you have already pressed the launch button. You would have not pressed if you was'nt ready? There is all so no button to press if you was'nt ready?????
Is this button here for some future item in the game, like a video launch of the mechs falling from the mothership onto the planet surface?? that would be really good!
What have I missed?
IIRC, the reason the ready button was implemented was because in the past PLAYERS have asked for a 'lobby' system prematch launch, so that they could coordinate lances, and possibly switch to more appropriate 'mechs for different map conditions.
I kinda figured we wouldn't get the 'mech switching (too easy to weight the outcome of a match by grabbing the best 'mech for the best situation ALL the time. Maybe when CW starts?) but I always thought this system handled swapping around of lances nicely, to group light/med/heavy/assault lances if u chose to, or to balance out lances if you needed to. It works very well for that.
....until us players who asked for this system (I know I didn't ask, and you may not have PERSONALLY asked for it either, but the playerbase DID ask for it) began complaining about its functionality.....

This. 24 players, 60 seconds. For every "ready", subtract 2 seconds from the timer.
Also, the button is just fine, but it needs to actually matter! Currently, the timer seems to reset every time someone loads into the "lobby", which is fine to accommodate slow connections, but once all of the spots are filled, if you click ready, reduce the timer. If you don't click ready by the time the timer expires, you should be booted from the match, since you obviously aren't ready for it. Then they just need to allow fill-ins (maybe only during the first minute or so of the match) like every other PvP game has. Then the button goes from being a punishment for everyone that is ready to instead become a way to remove disconnected and AFK players.
