I'm sure the original question was about why Garth put only Locust stats and not stats for ALL Phoenix mech variants.

So they can post the stats in the months to come I guess. And to make us Phoenix guys open new shinies without reading them here.

Nice patch...hope atillery and airstrike will now find places in match.

Why lights are pushed? We will see...last matches were many heavys and assaults in game only few lights! But this is caused in matchmaking or not?

So and now hurry up!!

Have Fun out there!

Hi guys!

Quick Question, what happen with the ui2.0 ? You dont run that today?
Or change date?

Regards

I am pretty sure i read somewhere that today will have a "beta" version of ui 2.0 and dx 11 with the phoenix pack. I can't remember where but i am remember because i was quite happy to read it.

I see people speak about a puplic beta test server that i am not aware.. Quite disappointed tbh that we don't have the dx11 yet

LOD = Level of Detail

It's something to improve frame-rates.

LOD is "Level of Detail" - and covers the concept/technology that makes things have a reduced quality the further they are from the player's point of view to save on performance. So basically, when you move further away from something, at some point whatever it is will swap to using a model that uses a reduced number of polygons, animation cycles, texture resolution and various other effects. There are generally several states of these things, and some of it can be done automatically, but the best result comes from doing it manually.

Really interested to see this inevitable artillery spam that will plague the first few matches.

Airstrike damage per shell has been increased from 10 up to 40.
Artillery damage per shell has been increased from 10 up to 40.

This means that single air/artillery strike shell can insta-kill a mech if it will hit head. And with XL-equipped 20-30t lights a hit to side torso will be enough. Two 40 dmg hits to side torso will kill almost anything with an XL engine. Nice.
4-man team on comms can concentrate (4+4)*400=3200 points of damage on a small area. Even Nicer.
Lights will now run at approximately 170 kph and I can't see anything in the patch notes about fixes to HSR|hit detection. Just imagine 4 spiders running at 169,3 kph, each of them equipped with air AND artillery strike... Excellent. Most f*cking impressive. "Children, this is Armageddon" (C)

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where certain 'Mech components would return a wrong index when they were hit with a ballistic or missiles, this would result in dealing damage to the wrong component.

Does fix a Hunchback with only a red torso beaing able to take 3-4 AC20s square in the torso and not dying?
With all the light bufffs, does this fix a Spider, while standing perfectly still at about 50m, being able to take absolutely no damage from 2 AC20 hits and a full pack of 3xSRM6+Artemis square in the center torso?

I'm not positive but I believe it stands for Loss of Detail and is meant to reduce detail on distant objects since you cannot see all the detail anyway and it should give a small performance boost.

I'm really looking forward to Project Phoenix today. MWO has been a very enjoyable game so far.

LOD is so at a distance the massive swarm of locusts, spiders and ravens blazing towards you wont cause you lag but as they get closer they will gain more detail and make your pc {Scrap} itself. :)

Arty strikes could be interesting. Definitely a good anti-camping mechanic. Other than that eh. new mech and some bug fixes. I think I'm going to be kinda meh on everything until we get some UI and CW news. Good job on making progress with the bugs though and a quick turn around on the map glitches!

LOD = Level Of Detail.

It's how the game dynamically reduces detail on things that are being drawn distantly, so it's not trying to render tiny details you can't see anyways.

This allows the game to have great detail up close, while maximizing performance when there's lots of mechs stomping about.

Have the Phoenix buyer's forum tags been implemented yet? I couldn't find anything in the forum profile editor for enabling it.
