Hi everyone I have no clue about the factions and which medallions to get.

Pretty much had lone wolf for the entire time I have played but since I get faction medallions with the overlord package I would like to know what to grab. I have little insight in each faction and know that each medallion gives a small loyalty bonus for each faction but that is about it. If it is a preference thing I currently have none but would like to get four different ones. Any reason to get certain ones over others?

Also I don't know if I will join a faction eventually or not so how much this affects me I am unsure.

I don't know that it will really matter that much - imagine it would work sort of like the factions in WoW... a boost is nice but you are gonna get to the top with the factions you prefer anyways.

As for the benefits of each faction.... unless you can find a chart or list of what factions produce what, not sure what to tell you.
To my knowledge everything will be available to everyone, just those with faction benefits will get their factions productions cheaper.
(IE House Liao's Capellan Confederation will get most of the Ravens cheaper than say... House Kurita's Draconis Combine or House Marik's Free Worlds League)

So pick a faction you like and go to town.
Or 4 different factions if you plan on being Mercenary about it :)
OR you can wait, there appears to be no time limit on your choice, so you can theoretically wait until more information is available.

Edit: Mangled the Smiley - wanted a viscous grin - got a goofy one.

Oh that is true I guess I could just wait until more information is put out as to what they do especially since I do plan to not pick any one faction really so yeah this is a great idea. Unless they put an end date to it I will refraim from choosing until I know exactly what they do. Thanks for that awesome idea!

Basically what we know is they just give you a boost to the Loyalty Points you earn, and LPs give you rank in the faction which get you "benefits". One of which is the ability to buy mechs that are associated with that faction for a cheaper price, or at least that is one of the things they have mentioned.

But since we don't really know how the LP thing will work with mercs (if we earn the same points as a Loyalist, and get the same benefits, why be a Loyalist?) it's really hard to say.

Koniving had a good point, one of the ones he chose was the FRR since they are almost completely absorbed by the Clans, they may get first access to Clan tech.

Went with Marik, Liao, and Kurita for a Concord of Kapteyn theme, then threw in a FRR for kicks.

You could probably (possibly?) get a hold of support and get that fixed if you want...

Isn't that kind of like buying multiple of the same modules?

Actually you can choose any kind you want. Based on type of package you chose, the medallions can either be one of each house or the exact same one. It really depends on what you want though.

It makes sense to buy 4 different ones because you can't stick 2 in a mech at a time, but that's assuming you are ok with moving them around every match to a different mech. It may be more convenient to have 2 of one kind.

I still think it's probably a good idea to wait until they actually do something and you know going in what that will be for each faction.
