Report them for what? Using an in-game mechanic? This is not a hack or some sort of external software. You jump on top of someones head, and then the someone moves. It is part of the game and anyone can do it. If you have a complaint, ask the developers if they should take it out of the game. If it is in the game, use it.

yep, team killing is in the game as well, just saying

And people do team kill for the sake of duels because there is no other option, and I fully support it. The "team killing epidemic" doesn't really exist in competitive 12 man play outside of duels because it is rather counterproductive.

So how do people know what is a game mechanic that they can use and what is a game mechanic that is off limits? Who is the god who decides what makes things "right"? Honestly, all this "it must be played the way I say" is stupid. PGI should fix things or at least have statements on mechanics that are broken and they intend to fix.

Common Sense should be used, If you think you are exploiting a broken mechanic, you are. If it makes no rational sense on why they would have put in a mechanic like that, Then it is probably a bug/broken mechanic and using such to gain an advantage over your opposition in exploiting. Seriously think about it.

And to...while if they did not what you to use it they should take it out...they will ...it just takes time, for it to be reported, replicated and a solution brought into play. And to say...but its in the game so ergo it is usable is a self serving faulty justification to be a dweeb.

The statements are out there...you just have to look for them, and stated to begin...USE COMMON SENSE!

this reminds me of battlefield 3 when people where able to ride their tiny personal helicopter UAV's and get up to normally inaccessible areas. now days players just use full sized jets and helicopters to get up there which is annoying because it takes the helicopters and jets away from being able to be used by the rest of the team. (now whenever you try and ride the UAV it just makes the UAV blow up.)

the thing is that in this game if you took away riding mechs there would be no downside except for not being able to ride mechs. i feel like that if DFA was introduced it would just make trolls start Mario hopping mechs and start destroying their team mates in a spider by landing on their heads. a good counter would be to make the person riding the mech loose 1 leg and severely damage the other over the time of 10 seconds to give them the time to regret their actions. or just make the mech slide off.

I tried doing this 2 months ago for a day then never did it again, and never used commandos.

A bunch of randoms and I on ngng teamspeak did a few drops against you guys a while back -couple months or so- it was hilarious once we figured out how your highlanders made it to the other side of Terra so quickly  you streamed it, one of our guys hit your stream where you were talking about being a noble steed or something. Hilarious stuff. Made a lot more sense after we knew it :) I wasn't trying to call you out all angrily or something, I just thought it was funny. Looked absolutely ridiculous. Thought it was commandos you guys were riding, but it could be something else. I don't remember who else was on the drop.. I think zombiestevejobs was on our side.

Haha yes, I just wanted to be a noble steed and teammates to be my glorious and brave riders.

I would tell my highlanders to jump when they were in trouble, run underneath their legs, then they would fall on top of my head and I would evac them to safety. It's actually an awesome mechanic that I wish was made official and usable without the huge 50 meter clips =P

I was running around and I saw an HGN torso sticking up over a ridge hauling butt and my jaw just dropped :)

What real advantage does this tactic even provide? So you plop an Atlas on a Jenner and run off with it. Then what? The Atlas is all by its lonesome to get ripped to shreds by a couple of enemy mechs.

The mech that sits on top is nearly impossible to hit because it keeps teleporting, doesn't matter if you shoot where he shows, where he's supposed to be, he barely takes any damage whatsoever, becoming nearly indestructible, you would've to kill the mech below first, but if he's behind a ridge, you're pretty much screwed, seen that happen with a Catapult on top of an ECM Atlas, nobody could kill the catapult while it was launching missiles at everyone, and the Atlas carrying it was hiding the entire time.

It's not a technique, it's an exploit and should be punishable.

On maps that are slightly bigger (e.g. Canyon, Colony etc.)

If you can get an assault mech's firepower into a forward position with good cover, the enemy team is left stuck all the way behind. Either they stay in a bad position and get out manoeuvred or they attempt to charge your position through an open space which was supposedly design for movement (read the map design sharing by devs) and take horrendous amounts of damage and by the time they reach the assault mech's position, you realise that after taking a mauling through the open, their friendly forces have caught up.

I have been using an Assault Mech with the biggest XL engine I could fit for a big payload. Running an Assault Mech at medium speed to the front line is devastating.

They need to keep it in game, but make it do a ton of damage to make us more inclined to do it to the bad guys rather than our friends...

DFA: The only feature that the Highlander can't perform in MWO, despite the words on the Buccaneer skin.

doesnt work, ive tried many times to replicate and every time you either fall off, lag around like crazy and dont move, or you kill the smaller mech by crushing its head...
post a video or it didnt happen

Probrem? o.O;

Btw, I've received my warnings (ironically we recorded this to tell PGI for it). Don't do this. It isn't cool. Big ones on small ones, obvious reasons. Small ones on big ones, makes both mechs virtually invincible due to hit box HSR confusion.

I don't know about others opinions but lets face it an assault mech jump jetting ontop of a light should instant kill it. You are looking at 35 tons under 85 to 100 tons ... the supports for any light would instantly give out and the cockpit would be smashed.

any body whose played the Table top games Knows about "Death from Above" . It's a type of physical attack where a mech jumps onto another mech causing massive damage and usually resulting in both mechs falling.

Physical attacks should be a feature, falling mech due to excessive damage or having a 20ton+ machine falling on your cockpit should be a feature. Getting a piggy back ride from another mech is ******** and should be fixed right away.

This is just another example of the designer ignoring the BT universe cannon for expediency reason.

Disapointed sigh,
