Assault Mode Time Restricted Base Capture

Just a simple change for assault mode. No one likes the base zerg to cap, so my suggestion is to put a 7 minute delay on base capture. 7 minutes out of a total 15 minute match would be restricting the zerg to base, yet capture will still be an option to do instead of finding that last pesky light that is shut down somewhere. Doesn't have to be 7 minutes, could be 5 minute delay, or so. But seeing how it takes a few minutes to get to the base, I think 7 is a good time. Ok flame away.

This will only add frustration and bloody wait, I'm afraid. Kinda like the ready button. Assault should just be buried as unbefitting giant legged war machines.

Ok kids, we are going to play Capture the Flags. The rules are simple. Just go over there and grab the other teams flag. If the other team gets in your way, you can take them out. Otherwise, they will take you out. Oh, on more thing. You cannot capture the other team's flag until half way through the game or until either team is down to the last 3 players. Have fun kids.

Makes total sense.</sarcasm>

Conquest is Domination. Assault is Capture the Flag. Neither are Team Deathmatch.

Yeah, I guess you got this game and spent the $80 on the overlord package to not shoot mechs...

The OP and others are trying to change the rules of the assault game. It's not written in stone.

wait for team deathmatch to be released. they are not going to waste time on this suggestion with new game modes somewhere in the pipeline so chill out and wait for tdm.

Since you can't debate the point, you engage in a rather silly ad hominem, cute.

Not that Assault is perfect. There are a few things that needs fixing (cap rate, add ability to reset, add proper capture rewards), but the OP's proposal defeats the very purpose of Assault.

You had a chance to offer suggestions when you replied to him.

I also didn't say I agreed with him, I said he was trying to change the rules so things like this never happen again...

Because I've stated what things I think should be changed in assault many times before. There is no point in repeating them when someone else picks up a stick and starts beating that dead hose. As for losing a match without downing a single mech. That's a failure in tactics, especially on Caustic Vally where it is so easy to scout out the location of the enemy team and a RtB, even for an assault isn't that difficult.

What tactics? This game has zero communication other than typing and the commander mode is a joke. Besides no one listens to it anyway. The only tactics in this game is flank right or sit in the middle of the map.

The reason the game only lasted 3 minutes was because their ENTIRE TEAM rushed our base, not just a few lights. However, since you're so great, if you were in the game I'm sure you would have killed everyone.

It is still a failure in tactics regardless of communication. These cap losses can be prevented by smart tactical play.
