Lost A Lot Of Interest

The phoenix pack has come out a few days ago and I havent even bothered to play a match, the game balance has changed for the worse and they have added useless features... dont get me wrong,
-I really like the new feature where when you equip a mech in the mechbay the weapons actually show up on the mech now instead of just staying a generic model.
-The SRM's are loads better and useful now.
-Thanks for fixing the machine guns
-Thanks for making airstrikes and artillery useful in the last update
-Thanks for fixing a lot of those godawful places we used to get stuck on in the maps.
-Using my zoom module doesnt look like {Scrap} anymore
But there is a lot of bad things and the developers cannot hide under the 'Its in beta' blanket anymore.
-Ghost heat <--- what the hell PGI, could you not have come up with something more complicated and ridiculous.
-Why do i decelerate going up a gill but not overexcelerate going down a hill?
- A wait button? <--- why oh why is there a wait button? maybe it is for some upcoming feature but you know what... you havent added that feature yet so please take this useless button out as it just wastes 60 seconds of everyones lives (they add up after a while)
-The flamethrower is still completely useless
- Hitboxes on lights are not very good
-some medium mechs are larger in size than heavy mechs
There are a few weapon inbalances but my main gripe is with ghost heat, it has completely put me off this game, firing two AC2's at the same time is ok but as soon if you fire them slightly timed apart magic heat comes from nowhere and hits you so fast that you shutdown in under 7 seconds.

Lots of people (myself included) think its highly ridiculous that PGI nerfed every single weapon across the board (even medium lasers for christ sake) to try and balance ONE weapon system. PPC's were what everyone on the forums were crying about.
It does'nt matter though. PGI will do what it wants even when the player base cries and screams and begs and even writes detailed debate essays showing why their point is valid that go totally ignored by PGI.
I had high hopes for a small company that actually liked BT being able to make this game right a few years ago. I said to myself, "Maybe Duke Nukem was a fluke you know?" The list of mistakes by the devs is so long I quit taking count of them.
I've lost alot of interest in the game as well, but I still hop by from time to time to see how long PGI tries to milk their cash cow before they send it to the steak factory.

Spiders totally bugged.
No lobby which go a long way to helping groups set up real games.

You know what? I would be happy if the game is never finished. The devs themselves said its never really going to be finished.
I would just be happy if it was ENJOYABLE. If there was some meat and potatoes behind the whole drop, blow up stuff, get killed rinse repeat that has been the game for the last year and a half.
I quit playing pretty much after the c-bill nerf. Not that I really need the money since I've been playing for over 18 months now I pretty much got about 20 mechs all mastered sitting around in my mechbays. So what else is there for players like me that have been waiting and waiting and waiting some more for CW, clans, anything that resembles progression instead of the months and months of stupid weapon "balances" and sales and stuff you can spend money on.
Yeah, yeah, before anyone says it, I know its "coming soon". Problem is that its been coming soon for a long time now. So really I don't believe any more "its coming soon" when they tell me.
In reality the BETA tag was dropped as soon as this game went live and PGI started taking money for hero mechs, cockpit items, bobbleheads (I still can't believe there are friggin bobbleheads in a MechWarrior game.) and even friggin painting your mech a different color. Just to paint my mech red is really 1.25 million c-bills? Seriously?! And if I want to paint it orange red and blue its almost 4 million c-bills.......what is that like a solid day of grinding all day(30-40 matches) just for something that is not combat useful in any way and you can't even tell is there unless you pilot in third person all the time.
I could go on, but whats the point.

I came back and have never enjoyed this game more. There are annoying things in it and some of the ones you listed are valid concerns, but a few of them are odd too.
Have you ever run down a set of stairs or a hill? Not just quickly, I'm talking sprinted... It ends up something like this.....
If we could fall down from getting thrown off balance due to {Scrap} piloting? Yeah I could see it, but not in the state the game is in. Honestly I think the hill climb fixed a lot of problems with the sniping meta.
Flamer? Yeah it isn't a great weapon... though I don't think it ever really was? Saw a commando core out an atlas that was already shredded with one the other day though.
Wait button? Yeah I hope there is a reason for it soon. I had heard a rumor that the wait time if the timer went down was the same average time it took before the ready button, but I've not seen any comparison etc.
Hitboxes on lights? Yup.
Large mediums? The CTs on those Shadowhawks are tiny and they seem to be surviving well enough, I do ok with my trebuchet though so I never saw a problem with it. If anything I think it is more about some mechs being rarely used because their hitboxes are {Scrap} sizes rather than the size of the mech itself (looking at you awesome!).
Of course, it all doesn't matter if you aren't having fun. I am and there are some folks I never thought would come back to mwo that are along with me laughing it up, but opinions are like... etc, etc.
Hope you find something fun to play regardless!

This. whenever I jump on teamspeak it's always "alpha this" and "alpha that" and "omg i have a 50 damage alpha strike!". I *like* that ghost heat mitigated some of the ridiculous alpha strikes. Heaven forbid anyone need to *plan* an attack, figure out "ok, I can swoop in, unload 4 ml, then the other 4, then escape through here to bleed off some heat to loop around and do it again". People I don't play with frequently think I'm strange for wanting to plan a path of egress before attacking. I see *far* too much "run up and stand there alpha-ing until death". I mainly pilot lights, but I'm really partial to a ctf-3d with 4LL (very fast ctf with jets!) and a stalker with 4xLPL - both used to be alpha monsters, but I found both to be *more* effective as chain firing laser platforms. Just come up with rounded builds, people. It's really not that hard - stop using other people's builds on smurfy and try the good old fashioned "experimenting" to figure out what works for you. The one mech the laser thing really boned was the bj1x, but I'll totally admit the mix of speed and alpha on that thing was silly

Why should he have to even do that? Maybe if PGI's heat system wasn't so lax, people wouldn't alpha strike so much.
And don't tell me ghost heat solved the pinpoint accuracy issue. If anything, taking CT damage from overheating put an end to 6 PPC Stalkers, not ghost heat. The AC40 heat penalty is ridiculous for something with 2 of a weapon type. Maybe if the Devs coded in some repurcussions from heat buildup besides shutting down, there wouldn't be a need for this stupid ghost heat fix...
If the guy wants to run a boating type build, he should be able to. I'm still trying to figure out why 3 LLs are something so dangerous that there needs to be an artificial penalty involved. For the record, I never ran a 6 PPC Stalker, though I will defend the "rights" of those that want to.

(with that said, I don't agree with anything you said, except that point about ghost heat and hitboxes, all your other arguments are pretty much {Scrap})

That's the kind of tactical thinking the game needs more of. Good stuff!
