So with so many complaints with regards to locust and its requirement to mount heatsinks coz of low rating engines i found this:

http://mwomercs.com/...nage-by-rating/

http://www.mechwarri...rm/Engines.html

these are engines weights for each rating... i tried to look it up on sarna too but to no avail as just by glance over it i thought there has gotta be mistake
i thought compared to original engine weight the mwo ones were lighter by the number of heatsinks that were removed from it but its not so

http://mwo.gamepedia...e#tab=100_-_200

for the smallest of engines i kinda get this as the substraction would get them below 0t but still

im not complaining about anything just found this difference rather interesting (but damn its several tons difference :P )

No I also was just wondering:
explanation is simple:
The base weight of a naked Mech is:
structure + Gyro + Cockpit

For example the 120 STD is rated at 4tons in BT
It has 4 internal heatsinks so you have to add 6tons of additional heatsinks.
But in BT those 6 are free....

So how does that work?

Simple:
Your Mechweight is TT Base Mechweight + Cockpit (3t) + Gyro (Rating /100 rounded up to full tons - for 105 to 200 = 2t) - necessary heatsinks (6t)

So we have 4t + 3t + 2t - 6t = 3t
Same with the 200
8.5t + 3t + 2t -2t = 11.5t

Or the 300 STD
19t + 3t +3t = 25t

Hope that helps a little bit
