I like Terra Therma, but I agree that it IS biased. At least for certain circumstances (maybe it's certain mechs or mode or ELO weight or something).
Here is my maps stats for Locust. It's almost fresh account. I only played 15 matches in trial mechs on it before, collecting Cadet Bonus (I don't remember mechs, it was in time when trial mechs gave you no XP) and forgot it until the Locust release. Then I started grinding Locusts on it. 128 matches in Locusts for now, 125 of them Assault (I always drop in Assault when solo, but played with a premade a little who were dropping in Conquest as well).
So for a total of 128 matches (previous 15 matches were played when map and mode stats were not being recorded yet) we have:
25 Terra Therma
19 Crimson Strait
19 River City - Combined (Smog+Night)
17 Canyon Network
17 Frozen City - Combined (Blizzard+Night)
13 Tourmaline Desert
11 Forest Colony - Combined (Rain+Snow)
10 River City Night
09 River City Smog
09 Frozen City Blizzard
08 Frozen City Night
08 Forest Colony Snow
05 Caustic Valley
03 Forest Colony Rain
02 Alpine Peaks
Actually I like Terra Therma, Crimson Strait and Tourmaline Desert (and I welcome increasing the weight of the one newest map, which in this case is Crimson Strait), so it's not a "whine because I hate most probable maps". And if we count both variants of River, Forest and Frozen as a single map, it looks not terribly unfair distribution for them (also those maps are old and smaller and people may be bored of them). I'm mostly upset because of Alpine, less so of Caustic. It is not a random distribution and it's too much of Terra Therma.
I remember that at least one of my matches on Alpine was with a premade (and it was Conquest). If second was too, this can mean that solo Locust never gets on Alpine, at least in Assault mode.
