That's not sarcasm. You'd probably be better at it if you could accurately identify it. B)

What do you mean by "slipped date"?

They have stated for a while now that UI 2.0 will be in around Nov. and if it's going into public test this week, we can safely assume they'll hit that deadline.

Pay attention before you talk {Scrap}.

They announced at the launch event they were targeting it for test in October. This is on track clearly.
If test goes well, they said it would be out late October. If big bugs show up then November.
This is in line with what they announced.

DX11 is being held up and might not make test, due to some major bugs and Cryengine issues.
There's no point in pushing it to Test if there are glaring issues they're aware of. Testing is meant to show up what they're NOT aware of.

Development is buggy almost by definition.
Be patient.

I doubt we'll see this on test this Thursday and that will mean that yes they slipped another date. I am sure they are doing their best to stop delaying stuff, they know better than us that every delay is a huge loss of money. I am just equally sure at this point that "their best", although commendable, is not nearly enough of what it takes for a game of this scope, or to complete the necessary features before everyone leaves.

It killed me to see that "delayed DX11 test" post in August not being updated, but that doesn't even come close to how depressing it is to read the most recent update in the Public Test forum, dated September 13th: "DX11 test coming soon".

Yeah, right?

Depressing is the thought that for as amazing as Crysis looked that Dx11 in CryEngine would even be an issue but I guess Dx10 was pretty unimpressive. Really for them to even justify Dx11 then need to use some of it's features, but those do take some work and we're still sort of missing the rest of the game here so I could see them waiting...

...but it would be nice if they said anything. I'd actually be very curious what problems they're having with it.

they can't figure out DX11 (lots of cryengine games have it)
They can't figure out the front end code for UI2 (lots of cryengine games have a front-end interface that works....)

What does this tell us about their capabilities?

SURPRISE! No test this week, which means no test AT ALL in October.

So long for "DX 11 and UI 2.0 test in October".

Just to be clear, I am HOPING to be wrong. Meaning I am more than happy to make a fool of myself if that ends up speeding up things a little bit.

But unless they change their habits (and I still hope they will), you know as well as me that test day is Thursday, and tomorrow is the last Thursday of October.

The 31st is a thursday...

Also I heard somewhere that they said they were going to go to public testing in november and aim for a december release (which at this point is probably easily done), but I dont know if that's for sure true. Either way, i'm not dissapointed. My happiness at actually seeing some tangible evidence that ui 2.0 is coming outweighs any frustration i might have over missed "release dates".

It's just that... *sigh*... some of us have been playing non stop for 14 months now. We LOVE the game, we just don't want for these infinite delays to kill it for us.

Seriously, I am still in love with MWO and I want to keep playing it for a long time. I still have fun every night but I can feel that it is... slowly.... going away. Even the new 'mechs didn't do much for me. Because, let's face it, they don't change your average gaming night one bit. We still have to face the same bull**** every night, which is capracers left and right who totally waste yuor time, and groups with 7 Atlas or 7 Spiders because EVERYTHING is dependant on UI 2.0.

So:

- no weight limits
- no new game modes
- no factions
- no achievements
- no leaderboards
- no social tools
- no private matches
- not even decals

- and don't even get me started on Community Warfare.

So many things are just dependant on UI 2.0 that in the meantime the frustration grows because it feels like our will to play is just being challenged over and over. Again, no one forces me to play and no one says I shouldn't just take a break. Also, I am convinced that PGIs are doing their best. No doubt about it.

Regardless, my support to the game and my desire to play are starting to be dependant on UI 2.0 too and, you know, all things considered, you can only stretch people's patience up to a point. After that point is nobody's fault but some of us are just gonna lose it. Which is so sad.

On the plus side, it seems once the features are ready, were gonna get them more or less all at once. THAT will be nice.

just 8 more days till the 2 year anniversary of MWO
i wonder if they will do UI 2.0 on that day
since things are going slow i think they could get help from experienced programmers or modelers for free
to speed things up a bit

I'm really surprised that by now more people haven't worked out that while PGI are clearly always absolutely spot on with their feature release schedule esimates in regards to weeks/months/years; They frequently fail at specifying which planet's weeks/months/years those timescales actually pertain to, and that is where the confusion comes in for the rest of us.
