No. Everybody and their dog would make a merc corp to get a free color scheme.

Sorry but you must have not read my post properly. First off it costs 180 million c-bills to create a Merc Corp so that kills your argument straight away. Second as I have said several times you pay upwards of 10k MC (that's paid for currency) to be able to get the scheme and third you don't get access to the colours to do with as you like, you can only use the pattern that the Corp leader has set.

Be careful, bumping your own post will get it locked and in trouble sometimes

I was always under the impression that if you don't do it more than once every 24 hours you should be fine.

you might try lining it to your signature. Some players do that to promote their threads. I personally like the idea

Oh I would definitely like to see that as well. I think the mechanics of something like that would be a lot harder to implement than this idea as you would essentially need to have a team of people filtering out all the **** that people would almost definitely try to get approved. This idea wouldn't need moderation as your only using pattern's and colours that already exist in game.

well you could have it be approved before upload. That wouldn't be hard. The community would do a great job just to get it done and make it a quick process. Have a community board set up of volunteers that vote on the uploads. Give the volunteers a cool cockpit item and poof, done.

Sure but I don't think I would trust the community to something like that. Remember that this would be content that would be seen all over the internet. It could quite possibly be very dangerous from a PR point of view to allow the community to do that. The easiest way would be to have a team that work for PGI do the approval process. That way you could justify the cost of uploading your designs (which there clearly will be a charge).

Maybe founding a merc corp is balls *** expensive and it should come with a customizable skin that anyone in the corp can use.

But your already paying for a 'balls *** expensive' dropship, why should they give you a paint scheme to go with it?

Look, I don't advocate PGI giving anything away, specially not cosmetic items. No it should be charged and it should be expensive.
