How were all mechs destroyed when the Blackjack still stands?

The message doesn't match the result of "having the best score when the entire 15 minutes have completed" aka "Victory - Killed More Mechs Than Opponent".

Anyways, I'm still unimpressed. One good match does not define mech success.

Besides, I've been actively trolling Locusts in a Commando. It's sheer nom nom nom.

Clock ran out, he had 2 alive, other team had 1 so they won. This went the full 15 minutes.

Whenever my assault battles run the clock out with only one alive on either side (no matter how many the other side has) it gets labeled a "draw" and nobody wins.

...which is why if we can't find the one guy left hiding, we just cap him out.

By the time there were just the three of us left (including enemy blackjack), we didn't know where the BlackJack was and I was legged. And about 3 minutes to end of match. No way to go all the way from one base to the other and cap their base. I mean, Atlas and legged Locust. ;)

The Blackjack apparently had no weapons left somehow, which is why it avoided us.

PS: Since I know people will pick on it... yes, the 3S is just bad. I still haven't come to a build that I can make work consistently or tactics to use them. Not enough tonnage to actually use those missile slots, not enough hardpoints to do anything else. Meh. Even the 1V is better by a large margin for me. But the 3M... oh, yes, that one's nice.

The 3S is actually not that bad* once you find a decent loadout.

*OK, yeah. It is bad... But then again, all Locusts are trash next to my Raven 3L. Hell, all Locusts are trash next to my Raven 4X, that is how bad they are.

Well, just looking at your scores there, 2/3 of the Locusts have better WLR than your 4X, and the 3M only has a 0.02 lower KDR.

I'd say you need a bit more matches to learn how to utilize the LCTs better; you've got almost ten times as much experience in Ravens as in Locusts - and still the LCTs match or exceed your 4X stats.

Give it some time.

Saying a Locust is bad relative to a Jenner, Raven, or even Spider is like saying a Hunch is inferior to a Highlander. It should be. Even a Commando is 25% larger. No one's going to say that they'd take a Locust over a Jenner with all things being equal. That would be silly.

On the other hand, in 12 man team events where tonnage is agreed upon or once matchmaker works, er, I mean considers weight, the Locust is a very good mech for scouting and capping. It's too lightly armored to make it a good hit and run, and you can't snipe because a single lucky shot can kill you, but in the proper roll, it's a highly efficient use of 20 tons. Taking two Locusts instead of Jenners in your 12 man allows you to go from two Hunches/Cent/Treb to two Jagers or one Hunch/Treb/Cent to a Victor/Awesome or Phract to an Atlas. Also, in competitive play, the extra speed it gives you in a conquest event can mean the difference in winning and losing on cap.

Oh, and try ML and 4 srm2 on your 3S. It's not going to make it a 3M, but it has good punch.

The OP's experience isn't unusual for us Locust pilots - sure we have bad matches (frequently), but I've had one 6-kill and a couple of 5-kill games, and I frequently dish out 200-400 damage in a match using the 1V and 3M. Not the 3S though. That thing is painful. Once I've mastered it, I'm sticking with the other two. B)

It's been pointed out that anything the Locust can do, other Lights can do better - and that's absolutely true until drop weight limits come in. That doesn't make the Locust any less fun to pilot, or any less of a surprise sting for foes who get complacent. I've lost count of the number of players who've ignored my 3M to focus on a bigger mech and thus let me handily core them from behind with 5 pulse lasers  I've also lost count of the number of times I've been one-shotted, but there you go <.< >.>

Stand tiny and proud, my Locust brethren. We are the joke of MWO, but in the wake of our swarm shall come a great wailing and gnashing of teeth as great and small alike learn - too late! - the chirping fury of our numbers. Also we will eat all their crops and make them feel really itchy :B

nice match B) if you love it, keep at it and don't listen to the locust haters. personally I 100% approve of these types of threads, they help give the little used mechs a boost in popularity when new players read them and decide it's worth taking out for a spin...and then we kill them.

Play 100 matches, give us the mech career stats, gg taste the salt.

Okay done B)

That's a 1.87 win/loss ratio and a 1.24 kill/death ratio. Keep in mind about a third of the matches for the 1V and 3S were before I found a good build for them.

I can hardly respect something that I have never fired an AC10 round at before without "Component destroyed" bonus to appear...
But yet again - if they somehow manage to hit the right time to strike on me it is kinda scary.
But yet again - if anything else manage to do the same - it's quite more scarier B)

It's hardly the best light, though it's not the worst either, that's still the Spider, regardless of it's perceived invulnerability. The Locust not being the best just makes it harder to run effectively, not impossible.

The spider 5D is a billion times better than a locust will ever be, ECM, JJ's and better hitboxes, and of course more tonnage/armor to go with it...

And it carries a whopping 3 energy weapons, one of which is torso mounted. I'll take my 4 arm mounted lasers over your 2 any day, and since when does ECM affect lasers? Being able to put twice as much firepower on target is better than being able to take 50% more damage, and your jump jets just make it easier for me to pinpoint your legs as you're flying through the air so feel free to use them. Also those hitboxes you mentioned are irrelevant if you just aim for the legs like any decent light player.
