Think of it as a Gyro Upgrade module not a new gyro. Like putting a chip in your car to make it mix fuel and air more efficiently and make it go faster.

Chipping bad. Tuning good. = Module bad. Tuning good.

I would like adv gyro to enable an actual gyrostabilizer. Your torso operates independantly from the movement of the legs, if you turn left your gyro will turn right at an equal pace to maintain your firing direction.

Hey that's actually a pretty neat idea for a module.

The shake thing is cool idea.

The walk thing up a hill thing is really dumb.

I'll still put it in all my Stalkers. I wish I could add 2.

It reduces ALL screenshake by 33%. Not HUD shake.

It will help popptarting yes, because we added the extra screenshake when taking damage in the air a few patches ago.

Whenever people shoot at me all this smoke gets in the way. Especially when i go backwards i cant see anything. Any chance this module could reduce smoke density by 33% aswell? :)

Competitive matches are still full of ulta-long-range pop-tarting nonsense; I'm not sure that enabling that behavior even further is a particularly wise idea.

I totally agree, heres another example of PGI not thinking their "cool ideas" through.

Can I please get an idea of what screenshake is vs hud shake? Man there's going to be a lot of people going to go "Module isn't working." I think what you just said should be added into the description of the module because I never even knew there was a difference. It's so vague

It would help if Thermal Vision actually saw through smoke, eh? That's one of my huge pet peeves in the entire game. Thermal vision, you see massive plumes of smoke (what???). But in night vision, in the distance, you see right through them. The smoke effects need to reversed. THEN Thermal Vision will actually do it's job, and would actually help you in this case.

*grumble grumble*
I'm writting a ticket about it now.

Yes, they add 3.0t for the cockpit, and then 1.0t per 100 rating of engine, rounded up for going beyond the 100 mark. Actually, the 370 XL and 100 XL has the incorrect engine weights the last time I checked (a few months ago). I will have to make a check again to see if they are correct.

But, their current mechanics for calculating the weight makes the 100 XL impossible to do because it would technically have negative engine weight.

That is why I hope they update their engine weight mechanics by separating the gyro, cockpit, and outside/inside engine heatsinks from the engine weights so that they can implement new gyros and cockpits.

No the math works out as far as I can tell. 100 XL engine is supposed to weigh 2.5 tons and provide 10 tonnage free heat sinks with 6 of them taking up crit slots. In game it weighs 0.5 tons.

So math says 0.5 - 3 tons for cockpit - 1 ton for gyro = -3.5 tons. Add the 6 required heatsinks and you get 2.5 tons. which is what the engine weighs in tabletop.

Edit: scratch all that, i was reading the wrong column. the engine is supposed to weigh 1.5 tons. I was wrong.

If it doesn't change the reticle shake its pretty useless IMO.

So it will continue to be the position of PGI then that jump sniping from behind cover (pop-tarting) is the intended primary use of jump jets? This is not good for the game, and encouraging it further with modules that make it even easier is just digging the hole deeper.

PGI, you are aware that most of the top competitive 12-man teams right now are employing full drops at many different weight limits where all their heavy and assault mechs have JJ's, 2x PPC, and some assortment of AC's so they can exploit pop-tarting to the max? Is this a good experience for anyone playing against this, or even for those emplying these tactics? No. It is done because it is the most effective thing to do, but it isn't really fun for anyone.

The shake when jumping should be much worse than it is now, and even after turning the jets off you should not be able to fire with any accuracy while flying through the air.

I think I may not purchase a reduce screen shake upon weapons fire module...

Which would make that the only module I do not and most likely will not own.

Yeah because no one waits until they release the JJ so the reticule re-centers then shoots, less screen shake will allow you see better to prepare your shot.
