Mercenary Contracts

when I play the game I sometimes think "WTF? Why don't they try to win that fight?" Maybe I am too much of a Battletech Guy and too less of someone who just likes shootergames. I really dislike the lack of purpose in the game. Most players only wanna fight no matter the costs,
A lot of people only try to get Kill Assists und Components etc, even if it means the team looses.
I would advice a Mercenary Contract System, as soon as the Mercenary companies are implemented.
For Example : Your Commander signs a contract with House Davion. The Contract says :
In the next 15 Conquest matches you need 10 Victories. If you fullfill the contract
your company earns xxx.xxx.xxx cbills and each Pilot participating in the Mission
earns xx% additional Loyalty with out house.
That would make winning much more interesting imho.

Also, I don't think most of the Kill Assists and Component Destruction thing you're seeing is on purpose. I just think some people's aim isn't all that great. They're TRYING to kill the enemy and simply failing.

The things that might change by gaining and losing planets are the price of certain 'Mechs. If a faction loses a world with a factory on it, buying the 'Mechs produced at that factory would require turning to the black market and the price would double or triple. The faction gaining the factory would see prices for those 'Mechs reduced to normal levels.
I don't think weapons are involved at all, only 'Mechs. I haven't heard any specifics on the weapon prices, at least.

BUT : There are certain (not many) Mechs a Fraction doesn't sell to outsiders, Like Marik disallowed the Apollo for open sale. Will equal mechs become "Faction" only over your loyalty ?

There is a list of 'Mechs available at normal prices for each faction. They include mercenary units and lone wolves as their own "factions" in this respect, so there are effectively eight factions (Davion, Free Rasalhague Republic, Kurita, Liao, Lone Wolves, Marik, Mercenary, and Steiner.) If the 'Mech you want to buy is on the list, you get it at normal price. If it's not on the list, you pay black market price (likely double or something like that).
If the Apollo ever gets in the game, and if they follow canon, then until the Apollo factory world is taken by another faction it would only be available on the black market for all factions other than FWL. FWL would be able to get it at normal price, and every other faction would have to buy it at black market prices.
No idea what you mean by "equal 'Mechs."

Thanks Durant. The question is when? As I recall this was promised more than 2 years ago (almost 3 now) with Brian Ekman's presentation. Have they updated the timeline as to when this would be expected / estimated to be implemented?
It would really be nice to fight for salvage rights and contract fulfillment. MRBC rating and all...

"Supposedly" all of that is in the pipeline. I actually asked Russ that question during the last Townhall meeting and he said it's "in the pipeline but not going to see it soon." The bottom line is that they want to get out more maps, fix problems with the gameplay, and basically get the instant action and galaxy map right before they start adding in additional elements like Mech restrictions based on planetary ownership, an economy, contracts, etc. Eventually all of that is supposed to be added, but it will be done slowly, carefully, and iteratively.
