So, I mostly play in Moscow, Russia with a 140-160 ping on a high speed network.

This week I was on a business trip to NYC and I got to play on wireless from a hotel near Times Square.

I shot at people, and hits registered, with lasers, ballistics, and missiles. It was a freaking miracle compared to trying to get srms to register from Moscow.

It's time to put in a euro server. This isn't three years ago, you can easily do it with the money you have. You don't even have to split the player base. Just host the games on euro servers during euro prime times, and on your current servers during American primetimes.

How much will it cost? If it's less than Garth Elam's salary, or even more than it, you'll have yourself a good bargain.

My gameplay experience? When I shot people, they actually took damage, and I didn't have to lead shots into some random gray area where they may or may not hit. None of this guessing where people's ghosts are gonna be so you can hit them.

Same from cologne, when comparing different daytimes exactly what you say is the effect I experience.
In the morning, easy games against russian and east european players and at night just plain annoying games with our american and canadian friends.

Best part of guessing the hitzone ist different HSR for different weapontypes autocannons vs laser for example. ;-)

No problems from germany aside from a poorer hitdetection throughout all timezones since they introduced HSR.

Ed.: Ping is ~100 +-10

Are you saying we ship Garth permanently to mother Russia and hope he gets accepted there like Snowden?

Where do I donate to this cause?

And I'm guessing that us poor people down under will have to hope upon continued HSR performance increases. I think we have accepted our position as the crapbox of the internet.

Heck, my ping is often under 30 here in NA and I still don't get reliable hit detection on all weapons. When you add in any enemy Spider, I might as well use a RNG to see if I hit and damage. Rest assured, MWO has major problems across ALL times zones!

You think 140 ping is bad? You havent played 280 ping without HSR. That was pure luckskill.

260 on a good day.. 300 on a bad day... Pre-HSR it was aim air to hit mech... Now its just mostly low ping spiders that are borked...

Another Aus player here. 260-300 ping avg. Sometimes an Atlas could be standing in front of me and I can't seem to hit it.

Even with European servers, SRMs wouldn't work. I'm in NY with an average 30 ping and SRMs pretty much never work correctly. I've been running a Battlemaster with 4xMLs and 4xSRM6+Artemis. The SRMs are worthless right now.

Countering that experience: I play on a 150-ish ping from Poland, and virtually all of my hits register properly. Very rarely, I get problems shooting at light mechs. Whatever the issue, it is not directly/not only related to latency.
