I have been running this build and found to to be great fun :P

the 2 Large Las give you reasonable long range fire power. WHile the 4 x SRM6 make it a beast in a brawl.

any feed back / suggestion /flamage ! appreciated :)

I don't you need 1000 SRM missiles (or the 900 SRM missiles and 180 LRM missiles you have listed). Firing 24 a shot, that's over 40 shots, and good luck getting those in in a round.

Try this BLR-1S. 400 rounds should be plenty, heat profile is better, better armor and you have AMS so you don't get killed my LRMs while you close.

I've been holding off getting into the -1S because I wasn't looking forward to grinding an LRM boat. But this SRM idea is pretty intriguing! Might as well go whole hog and slap a huge XL engine in there!

SPLATMASTER
XL 385
18 DHS, Endo
4 SRM6
2 LL
AMS
480 armor

Unfortunately, I'll probably never build this, because... who on Earth would ever have a XL 385 engine in their inventory???

I love the LRM boat personally, but try maybe an XL360 instead and tweak it from there? The XL360 has plenty of reasons to be in your inventory (in theory, so could a XL375)

That said, you're up close brawling, I'd avoid the XL till you experiment a bit with it.

I'd probably replace the SRM6's with artemis SRM-4s for more accuracy and better ammo efficiency, that's more personal taste though.

Why not use an XL in a BLR if you can afford one? I almost never die to a ST. BLR-1S
XL 350, 2 SRM6's and 2 SRM4's with 4 LLas. You could drop the artemis and go back to the 4 SRM6's

I run mine stock lol.
Just hang back and launch all the missiles, if anyone comes up when you are doing that you are more than defenseless. Then move in and do some light brawling and killstealing.

havent even upped to DHS

Jolly good point, sir.

With an XL 360, you can drop Endo and open up a bunch of space for more DHS! Behold: SPLATMASTER 360. I like the looks of this quite a lot. Very heat efficient. You could also drop the AMS for another DHS and up the leg armor by half a ton.

Or - if you happen to have an extra XL 400 laying around collecting dust because you bought the Boar's Head and promptly replaced its engine with a much more sensible STD arrangement - you can go 83.9kph in the SPLATMASTER 400!

I run mine with a 320STD, 5 tons ammo, 4xSRM+A, 2xLLas and 14 or 15 DHS (depending on whether or not I'm using AMS). You need the heatsinks in a brawl or you spend way too much time cooling down.

When it works, it's awesome. You just steamroll everything.

The side torso, particularly the one with the launcher on it is pretty easy to hit. I've lost left torso many times. I would NOT recommend using an XL for an SRM based build. On the other hand, once you've lost your left torso you don't have much firepower left anyway.

I almost always get CT cored in my BLRs, no matter how much I try to twist. Hit boxes seem to be pretty forgiving to the STs on this chassis. I haven't noticed a big problem running XL like you see with the Atlas. Maybe that will change as people get more familiar with the BLRs.

What I use for my elited 1s: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8100c96df93ba1a

Great for PUGs since it can actually hold its own vs lights. Also, a lot of players will think you boated lrms because salvo they just saw, only to get hit with ssrms and mlas when they rush you. I have plobably killed an equal number of mechs at long and short range because of the surprise factor.

BLR-1S

Balanced build that's been fairly effective for me both in groups and while lonewolfing, because I can participate at any range.
