In this case, I'm searching for the patch notes for the release from "Tuesday June 19th 2012".
Obviously, that's an old patch note, but as far as I can tell, it's the ONLY possible place where I can have an 'official' PGI description on features that are in game, but apparently haven't been placed in any 'official' PGI documentation store.
I found some notes referencing what will be in that patch, but no detailed description, essentially it was the following:

Increased CB rewards for Wins/Losses to 250,000/125,000.

Joystick support added via config file.

Note: The spectator interface is incomplete and some HUD elements are non-functional.
Heat:
Environmental ambient temperature affects BattleMech heat management.
Standing in water increases effectiveness of submerged heatsinks.
Repair and Rearm:
BattleMechs now retain a damaged state at the end of round and players must pay to repair and rearm in the MechLab.
Version1 of Repair and Rearm available Mech selection and Component selection.
Damage Transfer:
Attacking a destroyed component will now transfer the damage inwards to the next component.
Damage transferred in this manner is reduced by 50% for each component it passes through.
BattleMech “IN GAME” status:
BattleMechs will now remain locked in battle until the match concludes.
Players who die, or disconnect from the match will not be able to use the locked BattleMech until the match ends.
A locked BattleMech will have the “IN GAME” tag in MechLab.
XL Engines:
If a Mech equipped with an XL Engine loses its left or right torso, it is considered to have lost its engine and is destroyed.
Front End Chat:
Display non-existent friend in group.
Can add non-exist friend from group.
Added icons to represent unknown friend, and group owner.
Remove dangling invites.
Broadcast status when app closes.
Ownership passed when group owner leaves.
Unblock friends.
Sending messages to offline users.
Multiline text (128 characters).
Add offline user.
Commit via 'Enter'.
Removed exclusive obscurity (main screen accessible).
Users will be notified with a text warning if their base is being captured.
TUNING
Missile Tuning:
Missiles now deal reduced splash damage to the head component. Specifically the Head only takes 66% of the splash damage caused by missile explosions.
LRMs now take a direct path towards a target to which you have a direct line of fire.
AC Tuning:
The ultra AC-5 will now fire at the same muzzle velocity as AC5.
BattleMech Tuning:
Dragon Hit box tuning to allow more shots from the side to hit Left and Right torso instead of center.
Balanced the number of hardpoints on each Mech variant.
Added/fixed ammunition and heatsink cockpit monitors in the Catapult, Dragon, and Hunchback.
Mech Damage Glow is no longer super bright.
BUG FIXES
SRMS now launch from real positions
Lock on system fix. Lock-ons will no longer happen without direct line-of-sight or relayed target.
PPC’s no longer cross when they should not.
Muzzle flash effect will face correct direction when fired.
Chat Fixes
Group leader cannot re-launch until players ‘actually’ ready.
Group persistence when returning to front-end.
Soft Lock with connection error.
Context options.
Launching with dis-associated group after re-login.
Limit user name (32 chars).
Duplicate invites.
Self-Invitation.
OPTIMIZATIONS
Performance optimizations in Forest Colony map with improved support for Low, Med, and High System Settings.

Obviously since this was just a list of items that would be in the patch, and not the actual patch message itself, there's extremely little detail (not that PGI is in the habit of providing significant detail anyway), I'd like to see if there was any more from PGI on the specific features...
