good question! Nothing has been said that I can find about having a deadline to pick. I would hope CW will be in before anything like this will happen though

Nope, they don't answer questions regarding this toppic on twitter either. THey tell us to pick a medallion, but that's it. No info on the real effect, restrictions if you choose one or all, etc...

They're likely afraid to say there is nothing solid regarding this part of CW yet and don't want people to think that they have no clue how this will work at this time.

Can't say for sure, but it's possible that they will never have a deadline. As an example, as far as I know, the Founders still aren't forced to use their initial premium time by a certain date.

Also, the Phoenix package is still on sale so I doubt they'd have a deadline until that ends, which, again, as far as I know, doesn't have a deadline yet.

Edit: If there is a deadline, they will let us know. We can probably assume that they don't have one set at this point if they ever will.

I doubt there will be a deadline... and even if there'll be one, they will announce it. but as you still can buy a pheonix package (and i bet you can do that for a while, at least next year) there won't be a deadline soon.

Good question. I've already picked my medallions, but now I'm wondering if I wasted one of my picks. If loyalty is already an existing stat and we will gain loyalty points behind the scenes faster with these medallions, does that mean our loyalty is already being calculated? I've been in house Steiner for a while now, and plan to stay until at least the start of CW. So when this stat becomes visible as part of CW, will I see that I'm already close to max loyalty with Steiner, or will I start with a blank slate?

i'd guess if the system doesn't exist yet then you can't possibly have reputation with any faction, and i highly doubt it will be added retroactively, because why would there even be a counter for it yet? plus that would be unfairly imbalanced to mad people like us that simply bought the cockpit items for MC ages ago.

I think that some time around "launch" I read something along the lines of "we could track loyalty behind the scenes, but as there currently is no way to decide against what other players you fight, this wouldn't really make sense".

I mean you'd gain/lose loyalty points for killing players of an opposing / your own faction without being able to decide if you want to fight them in the first place. Wouldn't be fair, would it ?

Would I go hunt down that last "enemy" spider if I knew he was a fellow Davion and it'd cost me loyalty points to go for the kill ?

This. It is tracked, it MAY be given retroactively, but don't count on it.

That being said, purchasing the PP ave you 1-4 "credits" to purchase medallions. You can see how many you have left on the medallions page of your profile, as well as the medallions you have already claimed. There is no time limit stated, and I would imagine there never will be. If you don't want to claim them, oh well - they got their money and you got what you paid for, whether you use it or not.

It doesn't mean things won't change, though. As with everything on the Internet, it only lasts as long as the data behind it does. If they turn it off tomorrow, the company dissolves, or any other cataclysmic things happen, the credits are lost, as are any medallions, your mechs, your account, or any other digital material related to that data - welcome to the cloud!

I don't know about you but I would like to buy a medallion of my faction no matter if loses or not due too lore based facts.

No, I just don't know what my merc corp will want me to pick. I'm sure I'll be picking up a Steiner and Davion one for personal taste, but I'm not sure on the others.

Just want to know some mechanics behind the system before I make my choices.

as opposed to making an informed decision about which one you want instead of just clicking on something with absolutely no idea how it will impact certain things?
