Pretty Baby is SO ugly, they released the Jester so it would have someone to play with.

Why the hate for the paintjob? I think it's hilarious, and totally fitting for a mech called Jester. Do you guys all have to feel like you're in some uber-awesome tactical death machine? Loosen up!

I will wait and see what the verdict is before buying since my MC is umm... rather low after that sale on colors....

It's pretty clear where that colour palette came from...

Besides, I think the paint scheme is getting people more worked up than the pattern (and the paint can be changed). With the right colors, that camo can be pretty sinister.

Too bad Cheshire Catapult doesn't fit as a mech-name.

Theoretical load out for a 6E Jester:
2xPPC
4xMedLas
Engine and Heatsinks to taste.

I have a feeling that build would work fairly well, even if I would still be inclined to lean toward my 4xLgLas K2.

I've made that same build work on the slightly lighter Quickdraw 5K, the 5 tons should help with Heatsinks. :D

I'm hoping for more energy hardpoints, 8 sounds like fun. :)

Yea, I think that is the idea behind the mech. Seems like it was designed with the intent of carrying 2 longer ranged energy weapons in the arms and 4 shorter ranged weapons like MLasers (or Pulse) in the torso.

will reserve judgement until after the hitbox pass. As of right now, the thing keeping my current K2 as a second tier is the CT/H. And actual game stats.

I already have one CT damage magnet I paid money for in the Protector. For a Hero K2 to entice, questionable paint/pattern aside, would be JJs (which still leaves it second rate to my TDR-9SE, and I don't even like my TDR), or some interesting hard point variety. 6 energy hard points underwhelms me beyond words. The other thing it would need is a serious return to CB agility buff, but the P2W rage would be strong with that one.

If they gave it 8, it'd have more hardpoints than the others. They all have 6.

I honestly don't even care about that. Since pretty much every mech released since Closed beta has 8 or more hard points, the real issue should be that the CB mechs need their hardpoints revisited WITH their hitboxes.

It's also especially cruel of them to release this well after the energy boat nerfs... I guess you could stick ppcs in the arms and mlas in the body... if it has JJs it could work out alright.

No, it would be cruel to do that BEFORE that nerf. This wasn't cruel, except to our eyes.

Just wait, come Tuesday next week I bet there'll be some twist to that ugly Cat. Maybe it'll have the 8 hardpoints after all, 4 being in the center torso. Could be an Awesome 9M situation with either 2 ballistic and 2 energy as options... or 4 energy just for the luls :)

except that 4 energy hard points don't offer the either or capability of 2 energy/2 missile.

Though considering those are probably large lasers in the arms, 1 would be a little more favorable if it had 2 E-points per arm.

Actually, I think the arms are ballistic.

Take a look at the Cataphract's RT, which is always the ballistic torso side.

The mech is probably actually a K2 (which it looks like the most anyhow) with the ballistic and energy flipped a bit.

It's 4E, 2B, with the ballistic on the arms, and the energy on the side torsos.

This Hero mech will be so full of win that it will shatter all sales records if only they include

One

Critical

Feature

Remember the Heavy Metal? How it played a little sound clip every time you got a kill?

It should be noted by that picture. None of the current energy options on a K2 fit that piece. I would guess that is a new graphic for a Pulse Laser. On closer look, you will notice they tucked the two small ports in tight to the center torso. I have a feeling they are Machine Guns.

Left Arm: 1 Energy
Right Arm: 1 Energy
Left Torso: AMS, 1 Energy
Right Torso: AMS, 1 Energy
Center Torso: 2 Ballistic

This brings up the question, add JJ or ECM. Flipping points Hard points from L/R Torso to CT seems a nerf. So, that might justify adding JJ or ECM to it. The 2 AMS is just a quirk.

well, the side parts, with the red lenses look to be the traditional laser ports for the Catapult. The one below it (since the other side is not visible) is clearly a smaller version of the arm laser, as you can see the silver ring, and on my monitor size, the reflection of the lense is pretty easy to make out.

ECM I can almost guarantee will not happen. As no toher version of the Cat has ECM, that actually would be instant P2W. JJs are not a big deal, because every single other Cat version available BUT the K2 already has them.

I would think it unlikely to ever have ECM on a Hero, with the possible exception of Heroes who already have an ECM capable cbill version.
