Besides, Catapults just look badass prowling around the battlefield at high speeds. The velociraptor comparison is appropriate.

As far as I'm concerned, MWO went full pay2win today. This is hands down the best catapult loadout in the game. (though you could shave some leg armor and get a STD280 instead) Combined with the 30% CB bonus, this thing was built from the ground up for solo pub farming.
Huh? You can almost do the same thing with a Thunderbolt 9SE (one less energy slot but you get two missile slots instead). And has jump jets. And doesn't have the mythical easy to shoot cockpit.

really? I love playing Shads, Hunches and Cents, and feel the Cat IS too fragile, mostly because it's an oversized walking CT with the head right in the squishy middle. I'll take any Cat in the game from my HBK-4G or my Shad and feel pretty confident.
I don't know man. I've run into a lot of the people who post here but not sure when I was piloting my Catapults. But I can bet you that it's not been over 20 times that I have been headshot in all 4 of my Catapults. I just don't stare at people all day I guess when I pilot them (A1 is LRMs mostly with SRM back ups so that one wouldn't be as easy to hit as it's mostly behind enemy lines).

*Sigh* Don't tell me I have to spend MORE money now. I just bought the Phoenix package and now I have to get this too. Sheesh.
As a Cat pilot, I might not have a choice.
Don't worry. PGI has sales more often than they introduce Hero 'Mechs. This one will be on sale too, eventually (4 months maybe?). Hopefully that will be enough time for me to master my Phoenix 'mechs.

I've taken these three colors on my cats for eons. Not long ago, I took a K2 with these colors and went on ramgage oh-so glorious, a record for the ages.
I even had the bawls to say one round, "I told myself I would go to bed when I could no longer instantly drop into battle. 12 games and 48 kills later I ask of you, my enemy, please put me to rest."
My jaw dropped when I saw my mech's doppleganger as a hero mech not all that long after.
You all can say w/e you want about why this mech is around, but thanks for making it in my honor, PGI.

If you enjoy it fine, but don't act like it's only the "try hards" that are calling this 'mech garbage. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, really. That said, it's beating the Fang, Golden Boy and Pretty Baby.
If they ever do the right thing and abolish those incredibly ill thought out and poorly designed "maths" for Ghost Heat, then perhaps it will come into it's own. Until this moment that will likely never arrive however, it's really bad.
For reference you can run almost an identical config to most Jesters on a Trebuchet. Seriously.
Again, if you enjoy it.. go for it. I myself will buy & drive Urbanmechs if they ever add them which is about as "Enjoyably bad" as you can get. But don't try to suggest that they're decent 'mechs for anybody because they aren't.
EDIT: If they had included one side torso ballistic or even an arm ballistic - just one - this would be a stellar 'mech I'd likely be highly endorsing. Amusing how much difference that can make.

It's amusing that you insist that I have no right to suggest the Jester is decent, yet you're perfectly fine with yourself insisting that it's garbage.
What, pray tell, makes you such an authority on this particular mech? Do you even own one?

15 tons difference.....
Rest is opinion, seen some terribad folks in it, seen folks pull decent numbers. If you are saying it is bad in 12 man matches, maybe, but the majority of players don't play those?
I'm enjoying it and getting good results from it, time will tell if folks get used to it or not. The speed seems to make the difference over the normal K2.

Well, it has 3 colors, 1 of which is the eyes and 1 of which is the grin. If you wish to see neither, you're pretty much stuck with one color paintjob. Pretty much every lighter color shows the shapes of the grin and eyes. If you paint it all black, it looks all black at least in the mechlab.
Here it is in all white for example of how much the pattern shows anyway:

I tried to do something out of that chassis on mechlab:
- meh sustained dps
- meh sustained heat
- meh alpha
Conclusion ?
MEH
In the actual balancing of the game, no balistic = no i wont play/buy that.
We still need a "Jagermech" with Jumpjets AND an assault "Jagermech". Yes this is 50% serious 50% sarcastic.

No JJ ever for Jaegers so go cry in your cereal. As for not seeing Jesters, sorry I run mine all the time and love it. I regularly see them in matches. Sometimes there are three or four of us. I guess you must miss them somehow, thought how do not have a clue.
Yes, you do not like the mech. We get that. It is not the amazing, ultra deadly, kill anything in one alpha you want. Stay playing your Jaegers and whine about no JJs. Go obsess over the ultra best weapons to put on every build.
Those of us who pilot Jesters love them because they are a fun mech to play. Actually have fun and a sense of humor is important to the enjoyment of this game to many people.
