Hang on, the K2's arms already change for PPCs or Lasers. As do the ballistic slots. The only things that don't display fully on the model (as far as I'm aware) are torso PPCs, and the UAC5 doesn't appear to have 3 barrels.

The K2 arms change to show PPC or lasers (albeit it shows lasers as a deep in lens instead a the protuding one from that pic)

From the Screen we can concede this variant will carry around 5-6 Energy slots (1x each arm 1x side torso and 1-2 on CT)
It's worth to notice the side torso hexagon shaped weapons are energy in all other variants , also they are deep with a red look (where the actual Catapult models show a kind of metal ball blocking it when no weapons equipped)

Add the 2x Ams and a **maybe** JJ or ballistic in arms this variant don't offer anything special (unless it bring an oversized engine like the Boar's head)

PGI doesn't make enough scratch on light mechs since only a fraction of the player base regularly plays lights.

And they price at 750 MC/5 tons, so far less per unit, too. But, dang. We need some more light heroes!

looks like a 6 (maybe 8 if the arms have 2 each) laser cat, as a predominately cat player I'm not all that impressed

For me, this is the ugliest paint in MWO :) When I saw some crazy paints ingame, i was wondering "maybe the guy sitting in it is colorblind or what" but ingame designers did this? LOL ;) but dont care about the paint... lets see what´s inside the Cat.

I've been hoping to see a Catapult Hero for a while now. Sadly I was also hoping for missile hard points. Who knows, maybe it has some hidden in the torsos somewhere, I doubt it, but I can hope.

That may well be the reason, but I promise they'll make more by having a Hero 'mech than by not having one.

And seeing as they have 11 Heavy/Assault Heroes and only 4 Light/Medium Heroes, it's about time they show us lighter pilots some love.

Finally, the way to make people play more lights and mediums is to make the game stop making it a bad choice to drop in a medium/light - e.g. by role warfare and rewards for doing things lights and mediums are suited for, like scouting and spotting.

Instead, they release yet another heavy Hero.

Don't worry, tonnage limits will come and make the heavywarriors have to wait longer in queue. The role of mechs under 60 tons will be to find matches faster! :)

They could add JJs to it to differentiate it more from the K2.

I think I'd rather have a Founder C1 over the jester.

Double AMS is kinda neat, but meh

Probably can't jump.

6 Energy with the Ghost Heat is ******

No missiles unlike the Founders C1

Pass.

Just for further emphasis, Compare this 65 Ton Hero with a Firebrand. Again, Jester is kinda shet.

That statement would be an insult to the colour-blind community.

Tonnage limits... It may well be what sinks this game.

Remember all the cries of "I don't want to pilot anything but my tricked-out Atlas - stop trying to make me!" when R&R was in and people saw that they might not afford to drop in their favourite 'mech every single drop? Or even *gasp* drop in a Trial 'mech to earn some CB?

Multiply that by a thousand*, and you'll get what will be happening when tonnage limits gets introduced. It's going to be ugly.

*for illustrative purposes only, not an actual multiplicand. Use at own risk.

Lights are weak, and you can't really release anything that'll compete with 3L or the jenners, so what's the point? All current mediums, bar the hawk, are terrible.

Looks to me like there is something in the picture just on the right of the LT laser, like under the LA. Zooming in on it makes me think it looks like a narc, or maybe SRM2/SSRM2. Or maybe that's background.

The point is +30% CB, of course. Like every other Hero in the game.

You do know the A1, C1 and C4 variants are jump jet capable right?

Perhaps it's a little too early, but the Atlas got a Hero variant and now the Catapult is getting one as well. This could mean that the Hunchback and Jenner will follow with dynamic geometry and Hero variants.

Okay, they've got heroes for the Atlas and the 'Pult now...where's my Hero Hunchback???

I wants a ballistics-centered Hero Hunchie! :)

On The Jester...I'm guessing PPCs with significant energy slots. I don't believe that the K2's have jump jet capabilities, so jets on The Jester might be a good Hero quirk too. That's all pure speculation on my part though...

Unfortunately the opportunity cost of making a light hero instead of another heavy or assault is high enough that we're unlikely to see one for a while.

However, I completely agree that the rewards system screws light pilots like myself. It's idiotic that I can win the game for my team by capping points in conquest and make less than everyone else because I spent the entire match standing in a series of boxes like I'm supposed to.
