It keeps saying I don't have enough disk space, but I have two gig left open. I know, I know, not a lot. But it's not even a 60 MB patch, 2GB should be more than enough. But as I watch the patch install, it spirals down all the way to zero in the last minute or so of the install. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I got impatient and uninstalled some stuff to fix it. It took 2.1GB of free space to install this patch, which was 57MB. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this picture?

You need to do some housecleaning on your drive.

Seriously, you do.

C'mon man, 2GB left? That's nothing nowadays.

As far as disk usage while installing goes, it needs that kind of space to work with larger files -- even if the update itself is only 60MB or whatever, it might need to work with a multi-gigabyte file to add the update. It likely needs that "cushion" to do so.

I've seen the patcher using as much as 6GB on my SSD drive while patching which boggles my mind. They really need to look into that.

All installers and patchers/upgraders are like that, but we only really notice when our disk space is low and we get error messages. It's actually normal behavior.
