Sarna is not allowed to copy what the TROs say word for word. That violates copy right laws. So, allot of time some minor details are left out

Variants
The original STC-2C model Starslayer has not
been produced since the Succession Wars, but Blue
Shot recently resumed production of an improved
STC-3C model, which includes an endo steel skeleton
and additional armor. They also provide the STC-3D
model, which removes the TharHes 4 pack and a large
laser to allow it to deploy an ER PPC. An additional
heat sink allows the MechWarrior to deploy this new
heavy heat weapon efficiently with his other laser
weaponry, while the rear-firing B4M laser is upgraded
to a B3M medium laser.

From the original TRO 3058, page 112. The standard 3C went out of production during the Succession Wars, but there were enough caches to keep them fighting up to the resumption of production. Making it rare, but not extremely so. Just primarily found in Lyran space. The 2C used standard internals and armor saw production through out the Succession Wars. It was merely uncommon.

Overview

In response to orders from General Aleksander kerensky for the production of a new medium 'Mech, Blue Shot Weaponry was awarde a contract in 2785 to build the Starslayer for the SLDF. However, the numerous delays that plagued Blue Star throughout the 'Mech's production run prevented i from being built in grweat numbers. By the time the bugs had been worked out, the SLDF was embroiled in the Amaris Civil War, and more Starslayers ended up in storage than on the front lines. These hdden Starslayers later became a boon to House and mercenary units that stumbled on them. Recent versions of the Starslayer replace the standard chassis with endo steel, making the 'Mech both lighter and sturdier.

Excerpt from TRO3058

What you quoted was about the 2C that went out of production during the Succession Wars. Most likely during the 1st. They were only found in stockpiles. Most of the Stockpiles were in Lyran space. The Star League Fielded whole companies of the same type of Mech. So when anyone found an SLDF stockpile it most likely was of the same type of Mech.

If you read the TROs the 3Cs, and 3Ds, were not produced until the 3050s.

The Starslayer is supposed to be extinct till 3056 even more so since it never received a level 1 refit for the late Succession Wars (unlike the Highlander, Guillotine, etc).

That is likely. The original TRO has no real clarification, but it is the fluff for the 3C. The 2C is never even mentioned and the passing mention of the use of Endo Steel is both easy to miss or misinterpret. Either way it was available in limited numbers throughout the Succession wars. The quotes from 3058U are not much better for clarity.

It never received a level 1 refit because from what I can find the 2C is almost a level one already with the only modification needed is to replace the Ferro-Fibrous armor with standard armor and remove the CASE which nets a loss of 4 points of armor. Hardly a refit worth giving a new model designation, not even worth a field refit kit. It could be considered effectively extinct before 3056 by being out of production, but it is heavily implied there were still some very operational ones up to the resumption of production in 3056.
When the Blue Shot Weapons plant on Solaris was destroyed in 2928 during the Third Succession War, conflict in the IS had reached its low point in scale. There is a 128 year gap in production. Hardly enough to kill off a couple hundred Starslayers stationed all over the Commonwealth. All tech needed to field a standard 2C was available by 3040, enabling any survivors to be refitted to factory spec with only the actual frame being hard to get. Chances of operational Starslayers are actually pretty good there since it would make a good garrison 'Mech in the periphery region of the Commonwealth. The Striker managed to survive in the Assault starved Confederation and the Assault happy Commonwealth.

Edit: I know I contradicted my earlier posts a bit with date of the destruction of the production site. Still I find that is more evidence the higher tech 3C would be down graded to the slightly less durable, but easier to repair 2C at every opportunity.

After further investigating it I found that Nathan is correct. The Starslayer STY-3C is listed in the McCarron's Armored Cavalry (scenario pack). The scenario pack is set in 3044. It states the 3C was found in a small cache.

Quote

McCarron's Armored Cavalry reportedly recently discovered a small cache of these 'Mechs on Menke, while excavating to enlarge their Star League-vintage facilities.

The only things that are different is the manufactures of the weapons and T&T System. The 2 Large Lasers are Blueshot Large Lasers, 1 Moonshot SRM-4, 2 Razing Devil Medium Lasers, 1 Blueshot Standard Small Laser and Wayfarer C-101 T&T System.

It appears that the 3C was first produced during the Star League. When the 3Cs went back into production in 3056 the weapons and T&T System had different manufactures.

It's kind of a pity that first database is somehow missing the BJ-2 Blackjack. Ah well.

The listing here is greatly appreciated, keep it up!

This one? MAD-SD Marauder Douglas The personal ‘Mech of 12th Vegan Rangers Alpha Regiment commander Margrave Sheridan Douglass during the DCMS's Third Succession War invasion of Galtor III, only the arm mounted medium lasers remain, with each PPC replaced by a Large Laser and the autocannon swapped for a pair of SRM-4 launchers with a shared ton of reloads. The remaining weight and space is devoted to five additional heat sinks and three extra tons of armor. BV (2.0) = 1,459

Since we just had the battle of TKYD, which is 3052, could you add mechs available by 3052?

I'm not sure how much lore you're looking to get into though it looks like you're into brevity, but... if you ever want to expand.

Awesome: The 8Q general availability and Marik-contracted ER ppc variant (9M if memory serves me) are also dubbed as "Siege 'Mech." In addition to its combat abilities, the purpose of a PPC boat is to lay siege on hardened structures such as garrison walls and gates like those in Invasion mode.
(You can summarize this as something like categorized as "siege mechs" or something.)

Hunchback:
Until the 3030s, all variants (derivatives, rather) of the HBK 4th series (or generation) are refits of the HBK-4G, the 4G being the only one factory produced.
After the 3030s, there are two types of Hunchbacks. The archaic Komiyaba Type VII chassis (the HBK of old with variants made by refitting the Komiyaba Type VII Hunchback 4G chassis of which the high caliber 180mm Tomodzuru AC/20 totting 4G is becoming extinct (TRO 3025 original)... and Kali-Yama Defense Industries' new design using the Crucis Type V chassis (TRO 3039). The new design makes numerous changes, including new sensors new targeting system, etc. Roughly cheaper but slightly inferior equivalents. The AC/20 is replaced with the more readily available 120mm burst fire Kali-Yama Big Bore. Which if the GM Whirlwind/5 tells us anything, does about 1.67 damage per bullet and take 12 to make a damage rating. (As opposed to the 180mm Tomodzuru, which only needed 5 as the second largest AC in the Inner Sphere arsenal. [For comparison, the 150mm Crusher Super Heavy]). The original and the new are completely incompatible with one another, deliberately, in order to get profit from factory producing and selling their own versions of each of the older variants.

So.. yeah.

Hunchback IIC: Originated from the Hunchback 2nd series (or generation). Pilots generally have a bad habit of surviving.
(Since you have Clan mechs).
