I just copied the folder of the games to another computer(a new one) and the game won't start.
I think it's the pre-requist. Can anybody tell me which one is needed?
Thanks.

Um... not sure what you're asking...
If your "new" computer doesn't meet one of the requirements for the game then we'd have to know more about your computer to be able to tell you where you are lacking.

I would suggest downloading the files directly to the new computer instead of trying to copy/move the files from the old computer. It's free.

Sounds like you just copied the game files but you did not create the required registry files needed to play on windows computers. I recommend downloading the game and only copying the user.cfg file under the Piranha Games/MechWarrior Online folder. Also this game only works with Windows so if you have a Mac you are out of luck. Good luck.

You are not aware that games need pre-requiste. All steam games have some.

It take time to re-download this games. And it take my bandwith.

Ha in this case, I'll need to reinstall it. I just tough pre-requist would be enough.

I have a copy-pasted backup of the game saved on my external hard-drive.
Last couple times the game got buggy - I erased the game, copied the backup over, re-installed the patches, and the game runs fine now so that would not be the issue involved (or so I would believe)

Other than prerequisites such as RAM or the like... I am not sure what you are asking though.

Edit: I very much understand the limited bandwidth though

Glad you figured it out!

However, you should be aware that many people were unable to figure out what you're talking about because "pre-requist" is not a word in English.

Well, it actually is "prerequisites".

You have never seen that word in the English-language Steam. You might see "prerequisite," or something of the like... but that term isn't commonly used for "things you need in order to play this game." The actual term used by Steam will be "System Requirements."

This is why you had multiple people ask you to explain what "pre-requist" meant - not because they all somehow live in a hole, but because the word you were using did not exist. Thus, they needed clarification in order to help you.

There are, in fact, some software prerequisites for MWO that are not included in the game's download (Steam games generally come packaged with them)

You'll need direct x9 as well as Microsoft .net framework

I have made this work twice without issue by doing the following.

Copy the Folder to the new PC

Run the installer on the new PC and do a custom install and point the installer at the c:\games\piranha games\ folder. click past the warning this will not work and may damage at your own risk, it caused me *zero problems in the end but your mileage may vary.

do not launch the game yet else you will get errors with the patching process if needed. .

Re-copy c:\games\piranha games\ folder from the other PC to the new one and overwrite the files.

now you can launch patch and should be able to launch the game without issue.

Oddly I can run the game folder without installing on a different PC.

I have the game installed on my home PC and made a copy of the installed folder to my portable HDD.
Run the game directly from the portable HDD by double clicking on "MechWarriorOnline.exe" from "\Bin32" on a different PC.

sneaking 30 minutes of play time while in the office on the company laptop.

Yes but how many people actually read through these topics before posting?
If people did, we wouldn't have so many repeat topics/posts now would we
(not that this topic is one, but ....you know B))

Well, it's a fracking tech support thread... so it's particularly rude and silly to just shotgun post into it without actually reading through it to get all the information on the problem.

Oh I fully agree with you :)
I was just standing as a reminder to... well.... the way I want to say it would get me moderated - let us just call it human/internet 'nature' shall we?
