Oh they are, I was just focusing on the stock or slower stuff, overall.
And in fairness, in many of them, agility numbers are different from stock versions, though I do feel that is underutilized. But let's be honest, the most universal issue has almost always been disappointing hardpoints selection and placement compared to stock models, with probably the Ilya and Firebrand and Protector being the only ones that might arguably have better hardpoints.
And all these matters are just as important as getting a bonus for piloting them, since the reason I have passed on many Heroes is their weapon configs insure that bonus or no, I would not drive them as often as the stock versions. It's why I figure I will almost certainly stick to a non Hero Hunchy, as much as I love that mech. and why the PHX Shad is the least driven as I can do better builds, and hence more damage and earn more money, than I can with the bonuses on an inferior layout Hero.

Complete *meh* even before the paintjob.
If they want it really interesting. 8 jets, 6 energy, ECM.
People would buy that. It might be a bit P2W, but they'd get it even if it made them feel guilty.

so it's boring, or P2W? Not a very great place to be, IMO.
Could be why my proposed Hero K2 was 4 JJ, 260 XL (look! Stock speed!) and a mix of 2 Ballistic (in the ct, bored of boomcats/gausscats, thx) 2 PPC (1 per arm) with either 2 or 4 SSRM racks, either 2 in one torso or 2 in each side, though if one had only the two, I would say give the arms an extra E-point.
Not particularly more powerful or better than existing cats, but a lot different and more versatile.
Instead, we get a steaming pile of purplepoop.

Wonder how they handle gravity, or what not. And cooling.
Oddly enough, the vacuum of space is a really shi**y place to try and dump heat. Space has no material to produce an exothermic reaction with (you know, being a vacuum and all), so trying to dump heat would require a massive cooling array, or a flushing material to suck up the heat and then be expelled from the 'Mech.
As for gravity... reverse jump jets? Fusion jet RCS?

correct, which is why I wonder. I f you recall, MW's first few mission were on a moonbase, and you cooled like gangbusters. Am hoping that PGI does a better job.

There's some light but it doesn't seem very bright from the screenshots, so maybe it won't be so hard to shed heat even if the atmosphere is thinner. It could go either way considering that realism is not an overriding priority in Battletech or Mechwarrior.

Just because there's light, doesn't mean there is an atmosphere... And with a very thin atmosphere, your HS would be working at something like 20% efficiency, if even.
Also, any orbital body like a medium sized moon or larger will have sufficient gravity to where escape velocity isn't achievable without a powerful engine designed to do just that. It's a fair bet to say that the Moon Base is going to have between .8 and 1g, for gameplay reasons.

You've misunderstood me, sorry if I was unclear. I mentioned the dim light because it suggests that perhaps the radiated heat from the local star is not strong either, because the base is farther away than our moon is from our Sun. It has nothing to do with atmosphere except that a cold moon could somewhat mitigate the effects of a thinner atmosphere.
I also expect between 0.8-1G, which was exactly my point; any moon with that much gravity could hold a halfway decent atmosphere.
