Need to keep the dirt on the floor with this one.

Don't let them sweep the Troll-a-pult under the floor mat!

This was the worst "upgrade" I've seen!

Maybe we need also 360 sides like the clan collection thread until we get a new answere.
I already tweeted to Bryan if they still working on it but no retweet.
Tickedsupport was happy about my "nice tone" but just send me back into the forum.
Maybe we get something if the ask the devs comes back.
So everyone how want to see a nice catapult (not the old one... they wont give us the old one back) then this bulgy monster should ask for it in the the ask the devs.

They'd better hurry up with this then, only 6 months to fix it or else the Madcat will end up using the same system and have deformed cancerous tumour ears.

I'm sad to say, buy I don't have much faith it won't end up looking like the current Catapult - i.e. horrendous.

I still think the new Catapult ears look rad. It looks friggin mean now.

Is it just the look that has everyone's panties in a bunch, or did this change mess up the way missiles work?

I'm fine with the "extra pods" if you have an LRM boat (ie. they # of missiles you have greatly outnumber the tubes inside.

But if you have a 6 Streak A1, I find it hard to believe all 3 can't fit in one ear.

As well the pods outside the ears should no longer suffer from the missile door open delay.

The whole idea wasn't completely thought threw before implemented.

2 ASrm6 each bay... well.... 1 ASrm6 in each bay 1 ASrm6 beside each bay...
My C4 should look nor fire the way it currently does.

I still enjoy to play a splatcat 6xsrm6+A... but i dont want to play it with that look.
Also the way it fires is not realy enjoyable...

I barely play my Catapults anymore since the geometry "upgrade" - A1 missile racks are now so hideous and the tiny K2 PPC arms look ridiculous compared to what they used to be, that they actually succeeded in making me hate two of my favorite mechs. Didn't buy the Jester too (although I quite like it as a chasis) because of this nonsense so PGI even missed an opportunity to make a few bucks on account of this change ;)

Can't help but wonder if the idiotic strap-on launchers will be applied to Timber Wolf missile pods as well...

Don't forget that the "upgrade" also made the ears bigger on the C1 and A1 and the external pods further increase the size of the ears. So it's not merely looking bad, it's also a game balance issue.

yup, welcome to what all the other mechs were going thru as they got modified. your cheesy multi lrm 5 builds will now pay a penalty in size vrs a larger lrm weapon with slower reload. to me, this is completely fair.

A mech with 6 LRM5 has a pitiful alpha damage and has no close quarters defense whatsoever. By virtue of being a cat, it also inherits a gigantic CT and head hitbox. It was never overpowered, just annoying. It was only a threat to slow targets standing out in the open.

I don't think I've ever seen a meta of 6 LRM5. During the various past Lurmageddon episodes (of which there are many), most people carried a lot more than 30 tubes of missiles.

Come on Myomes! Don't be so negative all the time.

LRM5 Spam as you call it it comically easy to avoid. This also nerfed the steak-a-pult and the splat-a-pult as well as a few other builds that didn't need any sort of nerf.

ASRM18 should fit in the pod, the current setup has the SRM's far too spread out.

There were actually slight changes to the most over-the-top LRM builds that didn't make any practical sense to begin with.

Before the ugly stick, C4 could launch 80 missiles in a volley (20+20+20+20), now it's max 60 (20+10+20+10.)

Before the ugly stick, A1 could launch 90 missiles in a volley (15+15+15+15+15+15), now it's max 80 (20+10+10+20+10+10.)

Apparently, the much larger missile pods for A1 and C1 came with some advantages as well, as it appears that all missile Catapults are now capable of launching single LRM20s in a single volley. Which was pretty much the sole forte of the C4 before, it's even more useless now.

Anyway, it looks bad and doesn't make any sense. The bigger missile pods are a direct downgrade both looks and mechanics-wise because of the increased hitbox size. I could easily live with huge LRM boats having extra ugliness strapped on, but the pods are so huge that there's no excuse why you couldn't fit for example 3x SSRM2 or 3x LRM5 in each of them.

Also, the removed side torso pieces from A1 and C4 ruin the looks of the otherwise beautiful torso.

Give me my C1 launchers and big PPC barrels back.
