These pictures look downright terrible and the increased size to hit now is incredibly bad. This reminds me of the Catapult quirks patch where the "quirks" were just across the board nerfs for all the variants. Given that those quirks were identical nerfs for 3 of the 4 variants with the K2 being slightly different I think these weird new ears are more far more quirky than the quirks were.
Poor catapult you can already easily hit its CT from any front or side angles it’s the easiest Mech to blow the cockpit out of and now if you decide you want to clip ones ears it’s even easier than before & you don’t even have to wait for target info to see if it’s got most of the weapon systems in there.

But LRM's aren't op... there is not extra armor... there isn't any better turning or running speeds... this is a huge nerf to ALL builds that use the catapult for more than one missile hardpoint.

From my "list of mechs" (13) that has to be addressed with the modular hardpoint look, I think the mech that would be most affected by the future change is the Commando. Judging by the frakenmech job done on the missile Catapults, the arms of the Commando potentially can grow to Trebuchet proportions.

Speaking of the Trebuchet, it is the mech that may benefit to a degree from the missile hardpoint change (LRM15 max on many of the variants), but it is definitely going to suffer when adding all the proper energy hardpoints.

Another mech that stands to suffer is the Centurion, where the left torso will have to expand for the missile hardpoints. I've discussed about how the missile hardpoints dictate the most space on a mech... and now it's come to bear fruit...

"Artistic value" is PGI's priority over "Balance". Congrats I guess?

FFS one of my favorites mech looks like a freakin Dumbo elephant now <_<
This heavy 65 tonner is almost big like 85 ton Stalker, and now its worse like anytime before . . .

Guys, the additional launchers are outside now, because in every cat ear, there has to be space for a PGI member laughing his *** off about the fine trollery they commited with this.

I wonder if Paul had any input on this... you'd think this would at least catch his radar since bigger ears = larger hitbox.

I'm sure someone will take the fall... or remain blameless.

I really hope when he does hit-boxes for the catapult he sees this giant billboards and goes "yyyyyyyyyya-no. Get that {Scrap} outta here."

Quite honestly, it makes a certain amount of sense if people where actually using the missile pods how they are supposed to be used. But, alas, not everything is as wonderful as stomping through the aftermath of a battle with full salvage rights. Things will look ugly. I like it that way. On behalf of gameplay issues, it's a very minor issue since a good portion of the time you should be torso twisting unless you're playing by Zellbregin rules. But if your a cat focused on missiles and you're torso twisting, something horrible has happened or you're piloting a splat/streak cat. Now, if you would excuse me, I'll be escaping.
*Turns on Angel ECM and MASC in a Fire Moth Prime and runs away before getting ac/40'd.*

I literally do not understand this sentiment coming from a goon of all people. One of your incessant complaints is how little effort is being put into the new player experience by PGI, yet with this simple tweak they have made it visibly obvious how terrible and useless LRM boats are.

Whoa, I didn't expect to see that for the Cat ear boxes. That was unnecessary work IMHO. I was assuming that the changes to be seen was resizing the boxes according to the weapons being fit, not having attachments outside the ear boxes like that.

At least the ballistics look nice for the K2.

Those new PPCs on the K2 arms are terrible. I mean absolutely, shamefully terrible.

Why would you take one of the single greatest models from the earliest days and completely trash it?

Hint: PPCs are supposed to be BIG.
