too bad because you asked for it!

complaining about a few little ridges for missles ports and yet a whacking graet rambo uac doesn't destroy alex's art!?!?!?

lets see the huge barrels on light mechs and have their hitboxes ruined too!

My only say in this is if you put missiles that exceed the catapult's original limit(15,20, depending on which variant) then add the side missiles. OR let the player choose if he wants to shoot in waves if they want everything in one pod. (So putting 3 LRM 5's won't stack them onto the pod, they will instead fit in to a LRM15"

sensible request but people want more and wanted visual representations of the omni style customisation, now they have it it's a huge fuss, selectaively though. damned if you do damnd if you don't {scrap} in this thread.

Good, please tell them that the missle changes are probably about the dumbest decision they have made to date.. Except of course for the C-bill nerf, Ghost Heat, 3rd person view lies, etc. ...

As the proud owner of a 6xLRM15 Catapult-A1, I feel there are not enough missiles displayed on the model and would like to submit alternative art for the design team to use at their discretion as reference material.

I would also appreciate an update as to when the colour scheme will be applied to the additional pods, to ensure aesthetic consistency. Matte black, as you may have guessed, does not suit my style.

But why did they do it this way?

They had allready 3 different missileboxes for the cat.
Simple solution:
Use the 3 boxes that exists for up to 10, 30 and 60 missiles and put the lego inside of it. The smallest one must be shrinked a little bit, the biggest one enlarged a little bit to represent that.
Lego means something like this ugly things, but you only see the frontpannels of them if the flaps are open.
If you use 3 ssrm2 you will see 3 launcherpannels with 2 holes, if you use 3 lrm20 you will see 3 pannels with 20 holes each. If you use a a1 with only 2 launchers, there will be 1 empty panel to represent that.

If it should look good, then there would be a system for every cat with matching pannels.
C1 boxes with 1 pannel, c4 boxes with 2 pannels, a1 boxes with 3 pannels.

This way you see on the box size if the cat fields up to 10, 30 or 60 missiles and if he open the flaps you can see what launchers are installed.


If i look at this addons that dont match the style of the mech, it dont want to see the lego omni mechs ....


The ppc barrels look a little tiny, maybe they should give them a mesh (barrel with lots of holes, like heavy mgs have) around them. I think this would look better ...

Seriously, someone actually woke up, went to a board meeting and said "I have an idea that would make this game sooo much better. Let's put missile launchers outside the missile launchers on the Catapults! And let's increase the size of the Catapult A1's launchers even though there is plenty of room for the default LRM 15 launchers". Seriously, these are the people I give copious amounts of money to. What is wrong with me?

There was no reason to alter the PPC barrel size in the first place, except to match the 'small' style seen on modified chassis (atlas with PPC on arms, K2 w/ PPC in torso, etc). I don't think it was worth trashing the stock look.

I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I have to say I dislike this design change to the Catapult-A1. I won't use it anymore. I just wanted to voice my displeasure of your creative choice.

Anyways, this isn't -as- bad as the new ears.. Atleast the side profile hitbox got SMALLER.
I'm really worried about these new missile pod ears :P :P :D :wacko: :blink: :wacko: :blink: I don't know how else to express my anxiety outside of really loud yelling and photoshop. :(

Ok, I like the changes. In game terms this means that if one has an LRM15 and 2 SRM6s or SSRM2s that means the LRM cover can be down and grant the 15% damage reduction AND the SRMs can be snap shot without the .5 sec delay.

Nope. Users tests have shown the exposed tubes have the delay. You get all the bad and none of the good.

it's too late guys they've been cooking up these scrape heap challenge mutations ever since the "i want cool stuff to justify my trololol builds" crowd came along last year. the designs are only going to look more ridiculous as ac20's are justified to fit on ravens etc etc. some of us warned this would happen so i have no sympathy for the problem. the "moar rambo gunz on me mechs" crowd for omni style customisation have got their bed and they can lie in it.
