The external geometry should stay and just be shrunk to better proportions.

My God I am looking forward to this. No more underslung VCRs with gaffataped side tubes!

The chassis geometry is fine as it is but the old lrm15 launchers are mandatory. (obviously speaking about the chassis not the vcr tumors)

Anything else could be a reward for waiting 2 dam years. For example a classic geometry variant for any catapult owner with X hours played with the chassis, just like the custom atlas / centurion.

Exactly my point. Once the external add ons that should have never even been considered in the first place are removed it only need to be sized down proportionally. It is an iconic mech and the original iterations of it looked great. I would like to see a return of the shrouded PPCs.

On another note, my Jester thinks the worst joke is its hover jets.

I can't wait for the ear liposuction.

Also archer spotted, catapults are going to need some love or be extremely tiny or jump really high if there is any intention to make them bible/relevant again.

That moment when the Marauder is smaller than your Catapult despite being ten tonnes lighter...

I look at all 3 dimensions. The Marauder is WAY longer than the Catapult, and that is the trade off. I don't worry about the side torso nearly as much on a Catapult as I do a Marauder. If you (Marauder) want a smaller front profile, that junk is going to the trunk lol.

As for the Catapult, yea it is still too big in general. The resize should help a bit. Overall though, those dynami . Missile hard point redesigns can't come soon enough.

If they can trim the Cat arms down to the old LRM15 boxes they used to have, and fit even just 2 hardpoints in under the doors, i'll be happy. If the can use the LRM20 boxes from the A1 (or was it C4?) for tyhe 3 Hardpoint model, then even better.

If they can make SRM6s actually smaller than any prev incarnation of the Cat, that'd be best. I'd love half-height racks on my C1, for SRM6s.

I wish they'd revert the modeling back to the closed beta. The large ears and the tiny PPCs were a step backwards (several steps actually). I also wish they'd give back the catapults ability to torso twist near backwards. The owl-like torso twist was a key survivabity trait for the Cat, and taking it away was a severe nerf to the mechs ability to manage encounters against enemy mechs. It also made sense to have the expanded twist, since there were not arms hanging down to interfere with the leg structures. In closed beta the Catapult was a viable mech, with unique characteristics that made it stand out from the other mechs.

The C4 had the big ones, if a raven can fit one lrm20 in one small black cube the catapult can feet one lrm20+10 in the old ears.

I really wish they had gone for more limited max number of tubes for a lot of mechs to add to the differentiation: mechs that were supposed to use LRMs in large amounts should be able to get a lot of tubes in, while mechs that were not supposed to do that, (like a lot of light mechs) would get limited amounts of tubes
(like for example a Trebuchet would get 20/20/20 tubes, since it's a LRM-specialized mech, while a Centurion, as a jack of all trades, would get 10/6/6 tubes (instead of 20/20/10, like it does now) -- having smaller limits would've allowed for better looking missile hardpoint geometry, because they wouldn't worry about slapping 20 tubes onto a light mech, which would never actually be used, because nobody in their right mind would run so many tubes on a light mech).

A Raven could fit inside the current Catapult missile launcher if it encompassed the VCRs as well. It just might have to crouch a bit. Seriously, the Catapult's launchers with tacked on VCRs is about the same frontal surface area of a mech. The Catapult has a light mech hanging off each side...sheesh.

Gentleman, the time has come! lets see if our wishes are granted, or we have to lose all hope in catapult since other battletech game comes.

Posted Image

Wishlist:
No vcrs.
Classic lrm15 boxes or dinamic ones.
Launcher doors.
Classic lasser geometry, please don't put the new square ones, they are just black boxes, and they dont fit.
Pelvis error fixed (you can see through)
Animations similar as the current ones as possible.
Classic ppcs with covers for the k2 (maybe you can make ppcs without the covers for ST if they don't fit).
No tiny ballistics (jaggerstyle) for the k2.

And please be gentle and loveful with our cats.

What in the...? That's just an abomination.

When did they get rid of the variable tube numbers between mechs? Did they? A Raven with twenty tubes is just...odd.

When they started with the "variable geometry", they also removed any chassis-dependent tube counts. Stick 3xLRM-10 in a Centurion and its LT has 30 tubes.

To be perfectly frank, it looks like crap - and not only when sticking a silly number of tubes on either. Have a look at this COM-2D:

On the bright side they are going to do a complete remodel of the Catapult.

https://twitter.com/...625033251618817

Don't fret, they aren't changing the LOOK for the model. They are changing the modeling because it had errors and will also do the resize when they do it.

That way the Cats get to look as amazing as they are now just at the right size.

I want this to be good but im scared, also please no extra shiny finish like some other mechs.
Battlemechs are dirty military machines not shiny Mercedes like the clans.
