Yeah, you need to run it as administrator, otherwise it won't work with MW:O.

that doesn't seem to help...and mwo and ts aren't linked...

what is really goin on is for some reason no matter what I do my mic seems to be muted on ts...not any other program and i can hear just fine all my system sounds and TS through my headset.

i was able to talk ok on c3 the other day...but for some reason ts just won't work.

Why would c3 work just fine out of the box(my headset) but TS3 has problems?

user error.

Seriously though, not running the ts3 client as admin is usually the problem, you have to run ts3 as admin or you will not be able to speak when in game. Once that is set and done, we can move on to actual debugging
i.e. windows sound settings and ts3 capture settings

i have the same prob running as admin or not.

That was stated earlier in my thread <_<

My major problem seems to be no matter what I do TS has my mic muted...and I can't change the icon...whether the program tells me i'm muted or not.

My mic is NOT muted in any other program. TS seems to think it is.

well that just means the obvious issue is ruled out, do not remove those admin priviledges under any circumstance. Next is to test the mic is working outside of TS.

If the mic is not working outside of TS then fix your windows settings

If the mic is working outside of TS then (in teamspeak) settings>options>capture check your settings in here. There is even a handy begin test button that lets you know if the mic is being picked up.

The mic(and headset work fine outside ts3 (when i check things on ts3 it even shows my mic is working.)

But for the life of me, for some reason people ca't actually hear me on ts3 and the mic mute icon shows me muted...but my mic is not muted in windows or any other program that I am aware of.

I've had several friends from here try to help and no luck so far...that's why i'm asking the general player base...should I email ts support?

If the problem isn't with MW:O and TS3, but with TS3 itself, then I suggest checking TS3 forums. They would have the best answers.

imagine your ts client you should see:
connections bookmarks self permissions tools settings help
This bar here should have icons

left to right of your icons: away, activate microphone, mute mic, mute sound.

if you do not have multiple channels open activate mic is greyed out and that leaves only one other obvious choice.

Edit: If those icons do not appear right click the border of the client and select toolbar

Obviously your hardware and windows settings work, since your mic works in C3.

Sometimes for TS3 something as simple as unplugging your mic and plugging it back it can be enough to get TS3 to recognize the correct hardware.

There is also a setup wizard in TS3 which will walk you through setting various things, including detecting your mic hardware. Run the wizard.

Can you run the test in options -> capture without problems? Are you force-muted by the TS3-server?

I have a TS issue with my mic, also - sometimes it doesn't work when I connect.

The fix - disconnect, close TS, relaunch TS and connect again.

Sometimes I have to do this 3 times to get the mic working. I know it's not my headset because it works fine in other apps.

OP - try disconnecting and relaunching TS. It works for me.

There are 2 things to try.

1) you MUST run TS3 as an administrator on Windows Vista and beyond, or else push to talk will not work in MWO.

2) In TS, under the voice capture options, make sure the correct mic is selected. Sometimes, the default mic isn't the correct mic (like if you plug in your USB mic after starting up TS3).

In your windows settings, make sure your headset is selected as the default. Check both playback and recording settings.

I had this problem when I tried to use a headset with a single input in TS3. ie... apple headphones with mic etc.. if your using a proper gaming headset make sure your connections are correct if not try the other connection spot ( almost all pc's have front and rear sound connectors). if your only using a single plug ( instead of one pink and one green) then go buy a gaming headset. they are relatively affordable and will work. singles only work for me for my laptop.

try push to talk as well.. or instead of voice activation.
