3Rd Person View Hurts New Players

I understand the devs intended for 3rd person view to help new players understand how the mech moves... but I think more effort could be put into the tutorials to prepare new players.
I am watching new players run out of bounds and kill themselves, or have no idea where to go in Conquest game modes because they don't have access to the map. My last PUG match I just chased a newbie jenner out of bounds and he died.
Not having a map is a huge detriment to a new player.

Hence why it's garbage, not in wide use, and really a shoddy afterthought.

The same people think that the turning controls are some of the most complex ever made.

Did you ever once think to type. Press F4 to go 1PV? You get those because that is your ELO bracket obviously.

I lasted about 1 min into a big fight before switching back

It's not balanced. It's just bad - bad at everything except for the one thing it was supposed to be bad at: peeking around things.
In my mind, it was a total waste of time, effort, and good will. Creating separate queues would be bad due to an already tiny playerbase, but they way they implemented it really couldn't have been much worse.

Not really the point though. While it would be nice if all the vets shared your altruism, it shouldn't be up to the players to explain basic features of the game to new players. That should be PGI's job, oh wait it IS PGI's job.....

Then they made it default and stuck newbies into the game with no map. Genius.

Why the *censored* is it a good idea to cripple new players in the name of making it "easier" for them? Result of that policy is frustration. If they spectate they might not even know why their arm reticule doesn't move like a vet's does.......
But hey, I suppose when you don't provide a complete set of tutorials you do what you think you gotta do...

Yeah... I use 3pv at the beginning of every match (I wanna see my mech man!)
I'm pretty sure I've freaked out people like you who think that I'm going to use it for actual combat

It's pretty easy to tell newbies from the people who just like looking at their awesome mechs. (C)hampion mechs are a dead giveaway
