It is pretty awesome actually. Entertainingly I got a kill with an advanced artillery strike yesterday. Terribly satisfying. If well used, especially late in a match, I think it's actually capable of generating 40k worth of relative profit especially if you've got premium time or other bonuses.
That, and it just LOOKS damn sexy now. I've actually started packing consumables and spent the GXP to enhance artillery and find it worthwhile.
I'd say give air strike a bit more of a buff though. Between the two of them artillery is far more reliable and more successful in terms of consistent damage for the buck. Maybe make it wider? Couple more 'hits' so its corridor is more dangerous?

Will have to go test them again then. A good show is important in a Mech combat, after all

lol , i had a kill, a tk . Agreed its all better, would be FANTASTIC if somehow we could manually adjust the spread of the strike to our liking.. i know, pie in the sky.
But what IS needed. is an audio cue to team mates..
you know.. fire in the hole etc.
I perfectly dropped an arty last night amidst the last 4 mechs and pop smoke and friendly locust charges right in.
Boom , dead.
Would certainly like to see it deployed via the map and or arm x hair.
Torso x hair has led to some unfortunate placement especially in danger close situations.
