I am curious why the change was made to eliminate brackets, [ ] from the exiting allowed characters in a passowrd.

I went to change my password, which currently incorporates those characters, but it will not let me use them in the new one?

Be great-full that we have the feature now. Players haven't been able to change their password at all (not even through support) until this week. http://mwomercs.com/...-email-address/
