Look, there's two ways to win: Destroy the enemy team, or cap their base. There's correspondingly two ways to lose: Get all your team destroyed, or lose your base.

You seem to be able to understand the first part, why is it so hard for you to understand the second?

Also, to the "miss out on the action" bit; they will come for your base. Is there any qualitative difference between fighting at your base and fighting at the center? Apart from the "moving up without being shot at" bit in the beginning?

So here's a strategy for you to try out to avoid getting base-capped:

Move your main force forward to halfway between the base and the map center. Send your fast movers out left and right to probe for contact and ward off cap rushes. I guarantee you that your main force will be able to react to any base rush attempts that way, and if there is none you can just go on to the standoff in the middle as usual.

It's called Capture-the-Flag. In it, you have two main objectives, one of which is unstated, One is to capture the enemy base. The other is to defend your base from the enemy. One team being completely wiped out means an automatic capture for the other team.

When I get capped out I think to myself "well I guess I should have guarded the base". I really don't see it as anyone else's fault that my team was capped. I then regroup, and on to the next match.

Thank you PGI for implementing a capping mechanism. There is no finer tool available to the discerning troll in the known game universe, and I love being able to both win and troll at the same time.
