The thing is that I've been there - you spend the whole match trying to cap only to realize that your team's been wiped out to a man. Granted, at that point I tend to rush in so I can go out in a blaze of glory, but it's also possible that he was better served trying to maintain caps and squeeze out a win. When it's you vs six and the resource counters are getting close to 750, I run too.

can you do us a favor and block out the names of the other players, it's stated by PGI to prevent a "SH|T-LIST" from growing due to player scores. I can already point out 6 people that can be potentially screwed over by this

sorry pal, but you'll have to re-upload it

I believe a screen shot of the game (end of match score) doesn't fall under name and shame. Anyone who complains about the end score screen shot should understand that everyone can have a bad match, and it should in no way reflect their reputation. Not to mention, most times the end score doesn't always relate well to what you actually did in game (such as sacrificing yourself to distract a lance of mechs away from the front lines).

There are those who disagree, and while I am not one of those, I would assume it is better to err on the side of caution, no? ;)

Best not let anyone get wise to the fact that the Locust can actually kill things... people might start actually paying attention to them and that would be pretty bad for the Locust in question.

I used to use ImageShack but had problems with it.
I have a blog site now I use, not on a regular basis, for writing practice. It allows me a lot of image space and I use that, works much better than some services like ImageShack & Photobucket. Lots of other sites allow image uploading, I don't remember the proper search term used to find them, possibly Free Image Hosting or something like it.

Just wanted to say the commentary, some of it is wrong, you can use a big engine and decent weapons, depends on playstyle.

Being ''unkilled'' at the end of the match is neither a goal nor meritorious.

You can be unkilled at the end of the match simply by running away, hiding and powering down ... when you should* be trying kill enemies and score some more CBills for your team, or cap.

EDIT: Myrcus's achievement above - high relative damage per ton of Mech, 2 kills and 8 assists - I will gladly applaud.

* Except for limited very specific circumstances in Conquest matches, where you might need to hide to get your team's ticket count to 750.

Not only are you the last one Unkilled... You did nothing that match! No Kills, No Assists, No damage! Did you hide the whole match?

I like the fact that everyone is so polite not to point out the fact that the OP did jack the whole game (0 Dmg) and still dared to post it on the forums like it's some achievement that he hid somewhere while his whole team died

And now these 3 separately.

Being unkilled in the lightest Mech in the game can be both a goal and meritorious. The issue here is playstyle.

I am sure we all know the debate between those who fight like Klingons (Die gloriously) and those who prefer objective based matches. Now Skirmish is available for all those wanting the first, I respectfully and honestly hope you enjoy it. I will not use it because it does not suit my style.

I also believe match type got ignored when people looked. I have been in Conquest where, as the Lightest Mech, it seems obvious the primary job is capping. I still remember the times I ran Hunchbacks and was the lightest on my team in Conquest thus I capped and even ended matches at 0 damage. That's a goal of the match type, nothing wrong with it.

Clearly things I consider goals are different than some. While this is just a game thus some may just not care about dying and fight 'blazingly,' I tend to treat it more as real combat where other goals are not ruled out. That's how I am and I doubt it will change. It can be considered a goal to, when the last man and in a Light Mech with several enemies, not get yourself killed thus denying the enemy rewards and forcing them to cap for victory.

I even recall matches in Conquest where I capped and the fights raged elsewhere on the map away from me. This was partly due to tactical use of map terrain to ensure I was not targeted and thus could better off cap. We all know some tactical skills are not rewarded in game.

Distracting can also be useful and is not rewarded in game. Two recent examples to illustrate.

I recently had a match on Tourmaline where 1 enemy was left and several of us. One guy went to cap their base, don't know what his ride was. The rest of us went looking for the last man including me in the Locust. As the fastest Mech, I could scout the map for my bigger allies to rain their larger weapons on. I found him about halfway across the map from me, I was near our base at the time with the enemy Jager heading towards his base to deal with our capper. Told my teammates who may have not seen him due to terrain where he was.

I ran all the way across the map while he killed our capper. I peeked in to scout him and conveyed to my team he was an AC/40 Jager. When a teammate got near me, I conveyed I would run in to distract the Jager so my teammate could get some shots in and promptly did so. The Jager missed me partly, I believe, to how I drive then turned onto my teammate, an Orion. When I noticed this, I moved in and fired without aim (due to high speed and his position) and killed him, I had only intended to get his attention again.

This whole game I did nowhere near the damage of other people so by some people's standards I suck. But some people have been around here long enough to know the reward system in game does not benefit players using certain tactics thus is not a good measure especially of Light pilots.

Second recent game, was down to 4, 2 vs 2. My teammate (didn't notice what it was) was capping (Assault again like the last one) and there was an enemy Raven-3L and Atlas (forget type). A spectator said the other guy should keep capping for the win but he came off base, must have killed the Raven then died.

While he was capping, I had planned again to distract as long as possible but then it was me vs an Atlas. Granted it had yellow internals in both side torsos and one leg, the other being light orange internal I helped cause.

Locust vs. Atlas? Blaze of glory?

I saw this as either cap and run or try to leg it then cap. I tried for option 2 using my tactics and the game ended in a draw, second one I know I have ever been in.

You call it fail, I call it a success. I also call the several games I survived and did it on one leg, both win and loss, success. I call surviving in the Lightest Mech in the game, win or loss, success especially since people say a Locust has easy leg hitboxes. I partly think it is due to my driving tactics.

I don't do blaze of glory nor do I change my fighting style to it to please people. I don't force my style on you, don't force yours on me including the times I know mine has worked and brought victory and / or success in goals I have. This includes a game I had in the past few weeks where I was the last guy vs about 6 and my teammates gave away my position to 'force' me to play Klingon style. Reminds me, while I do not name and shame on these forums, I WILL do it on my blog, they deserve it, when I was in the military we had a term for this, Buddy F***er. You don't do that to your teammates even if your fighting style is different, all about developing team skills and morale / trust plus recognizing your goals are not the only ones in combat.

You have Skirmish now, go there and I hope you have fun. I will not be nor will I wish ill on you for it nor degrade you.

Until I get the time for more pics I have been saving, later and enjoy Skirmish mode.

The goal of the game of MWO is to win, by killing or capping, depending on the mode. If you're not actively pursuing one of those goals, because it's ''not your style'' or ''I set myself a different goals'' then you're being selfish and letting down your team mates, quite possible causing them to lose the match.

Note: by all means distract, disrupt, and play the strengths of the Mech you're in. I am not advocating ''attacking all the time''.

But don't set ''surviving'' as a goal, because it's not. Sometimes, to help the team win - or at least help them get better scores and CBills - it's necessary to go down fighting.

Nevermind that we lost, or that I put a lot of damage into a single kill... 388 damage! The most I've done so far.

Loadout is XL190, 4 SSRMs, 1 ton ammo, SL, and a little bit of armor for good measure.

should have capped instead and turn it to a win

Yep, I should have - I got caught up in the fight.

But I've used this pic to prove that point whenever someone says "how much damage should I be doing?", followed up with a "damage isn't everything" post/

Yet, survival is necessary to continue things like distract, disrupt, and play the strengths of the Mech you're in. I have seen too often players in game push a lone last person into a suicidal charge just because they think everyone should be a nigh unstoppable killing machine. Such people have Skirmish now thankfully.

Mech builders help us all if VOIP is ever introduced for PUG teams, the things I expect people to say and swear on comms.

Anyhow, the end match screen of the one Draw I had with the Atlas earlier proven by Match Time in case anyone misses it.

I can but relate a tale of Locust awesomeness I witnessed in a pug game I was in.
Our last surviving member a locust with 5 medium lasers. It was 4 v 1. Two of the enemy were heavy, one an orion and one a stalker. The little locust disregarding some of the {dezgra} on our team calling for him to suicide went about his evil work.
This work?
The utter execution of the 4 enemy. He lured them into the turrets and peppered them with accurate shots, weakening their legs and CTs so the turrets could take them. The Stalker and orion went down and then he moved without mercy he eviscerated the remaining two.
He ended the game with 725 damage-the highest on both teams.

Well played little Evil.

You say that, but the screenshot also says Defeat-All Friendly mechs destroyed. Doesn't look like you did a very good job with that draw.
