Title says it all. THe maps, I like more and more. Problem is , i wish certain maps more of the map was utilized.
This is difficult with static bases in assault, but Im wondering if both random spawns and if the whole map is actually available to pgi for play> ?
If it is, there is exponentially more life in these maps than at present.
Any input appreciated.

I've wondered the same. In my locust or deaths knell (170kph) you can get pretty far outside the map before blowing up - there *are* buildings, paths, etc. outside the periphery. Always wondered if they had actually designed big swaths of land for CW and we're just playing on a slice of it. That would make sense, to have each of the current maps representative of a particular planet type. Take a map thats 50km*50km, and just select certain quadrants to have players play in. I really doubt it, but it'd be neat for a little variety.

It would definitely open up other possibilities for other game modes if that were the case.

Would be good if they opened up forest colony

Really? You think there is map out there? If you kept walking you would walk off the map. The only thing PGI could do is EXPAND the maps, but that would require them to design more map in the gray area. The gray areas are for aesthetic purposes only, and the kill zone is to keep you on the map or kill you before you get to the edge of the map.

Did i say that there was anything out there? no i did not. I said it would be good if it was opened up.
Of course they'd have to design more of the map.

Greetings all,
Some of the maps have large walled structures "fencing" in the current areas. Tourmaline, Frozen city, Canyon networks, HPG are some that come to mind, but as stated the forest colony has a great swath of unused area south of the current map.(River turns south and opens up again, excellent area for a new base location.) Similar to Crimson Strait, there's another city viewed through the mountains. (but that's just backdrop) O' the possibilities.
Considering all the initial maps were small and initially designed to "get the Mech.'s fighting fast" and to test game function I would like to see most of the future maps be greatly increased in size. As commented, we don't have to use all the topography but they can be sliced up to complement the different area's on planetary battles. Yes it will additionally cost more, but once most of the art work is done it's a simple matter to mix and match those objects.
So here's the question, is the full library of objects in CryEngine able to be used in the game engine we have now? The images that keep getting posted of game assets in the CryEngine look fantastic. All the fauna, buildings, structures, why don't we have that in this game now?
[keep thinking of all the great environment elements that are in MWLL, but that was Crysis, so may not be licenced or correctly scaled assets.]
