My son and I were discussing today which ''iconic'' Clan Mechs PGI would likely include in a Phoenix-style launch pack for Community Warfare.

Lights: Adder? Kit Fox? Fire Moth?
Mediums: Storm Crow? Shadow Cat?
Heavies: Summoner? Mad Dog? Vulture? Timber Wolf I would think is a given.
Assaults: Warhawk? SuperNova? Dire Wolf?

What do you predict?

I'd give my left kidney for a Shadowcat and the other for a Vulture...

While this will likely be moved... These are what I see:

Light: Mist Lynx (Koshi) or Kit Fox (Uller). Though the Kit Fox is very slow by MWO terms and the Mist Lynx is only mildly fast, the Fire Moth (Dasher) is to fast to be added right now (169 kph without speed tweak matches our fastest mechs with). The Adder (Puma) is possible, but would outclass the Cicada and Ravens even though it is slower.

Medium: Nova (Blackhawk) or Stormcrow (Ryoken). Personally I want to see how hot 12 CERML is on a Black Hawk it would have a kick that would easily rival a Jenner, though at a much lower speed.

Heavy: This one is hard as the Summoner (Thor), Mad Dog (Vulture), and Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) are all important (maybe the Saber pack equivalent?).

Assault: The Warhawk (Masakari) or Dire Wolf (Daishi). The Daishi could easily break the game as it stands though...

If you put a Timber Wolf in, it's instant sales for everyone.

Not sure that a Fire Moth would be good, since everyone complains about the Locust (yes I am generalizing). But if they do a weight size like the Phoenix then the Warhawk will be the Assault and the Storm Crow will be the Medium.

Edit: Ooops, Uller will be the Light.

How are they implementing Clan mechs again?

Clans have so many iconic mechs. It is tough to choose, if it is just 4.

Uller
Nova
Mad Cat
Daishi

but I wouldn't be surprised to see a clan "booster" like the Griffin Wolverine

Puma
Ryoken /shadow cat
Loki / Thor / Vulture
Massakari / Gladiator

Still wouldn't suprise me to see a IIC booster

Jenner IIC
Hunchback IIC
Orion IIC

Fixed!

The Shadow Cat isn't one of the 16 invasion OmniMechs. The 45 ton Ice Ferret is much more likely.
The Supernova is just an old clan second line BattleMech, which wasn't used in the clan front lines.

Blah blah blah, just give me the Hunchback IIC and I'll honor duel any of your shadow cats and whatever into the ground ;-)

I am undecided between them.. ;)

Btw, there is already another thread about this in the Clans section http://mwomercs.com/...-clan-mechs-be/

Assault: Masakari
Heavy: Madcat
Heavy: Mad Dog
Medium: Black Hawk
Light: Uller

Because I suspect the initial package will be a star to purchase, and it allows two of the most iconic (Madcat, Mad Dog) to be released simultaneously while also giving something in each weight class.

I also suspect that the Daishi will be released after some of the initial shock & awe (nerfbats, QQing, general forum unpleasantness, and bug fixing) of the Clan arrival settles down.

Have you actually looked at the armour on a hunchback IIc? The thing is designed to die that's why they give it to worthless garrison troops, those too old to be of use on the front line.

I'd predict the following mechs:
Light: kitfox not a sprinter but carries formidable firepower.
Medium: nova if they can figure out how to make it work with such limited torso twisting.
Heavy: timberwolf for sure, first clan mech seen in the sphere and iconic for the franchise.
Assault: warhawk if only because the direwolf will be a tad too strong to be the first assault.

except that it can lay down 80 dmg in about 1.5 seconds in a fairly tight pattern. also, WHO RUNS STOCK ARMOR ANYWAYS? Dolt.

^Engines and structural components cannot be altered on Omni-mechs.

Eh? omni-mech? says nothing about omni-mech http://www.sarna.net...i/Hunchback_IIC Besides, maybe i like playing mechs that are "underpowered" and "worthless" because i like beating people in them in their alpha-mech poptart kings

What I hate about the war hawk...

We already have 2 85-tonners, 2 80-tonners, it'd be nice to fill the 95 slot or give alternates to the HGN or AS7

If there was a IIC booster it needs to include the Locust IIC & Shadow Hawk IIC, if not the Highlander IIC, Griffin IIC, & Commando IIC. In fact the first ever IICs introduced were the Locust IIC, Phoenix Hawk IIC, Griffin IIC, Shadow Hawk IIC, Rifleman IIC, Jenner IIC, Warhammer IIC, and Maruader IIC. So the Locust, Griffin, Shadow Hawk, and Jenner would make most sense.

The full list would include (excluding models that don't exist yet in the timeline): Clint IIC, Commando IIC, Conjurer (Hellhound, the Wolverine IIC though not named as such), Griffin IIC, Guillotine IIC, Highlander IIC, Hunchback IIC, Jenner IIC, Locust IIC, Marauder IIC, Orion IIC, Phoenix Hawk IIC, Rifleman IIC, Shadow Hawk IIC, Urbanmech IIC, Warhammer IIC, & Wyvern IIC.
