You've played assaults I assume? And you want to nerf their *ahem* agility and speed to make them tougher? Are you high or something?

Your notion of whats tough is obviously warped. Assault mechs are not tough, I kill them by myself in less than 15 seconds with a ballistic heavy. They literally have to hide behind rocks because theyre so afraid of my autocannons.

Light mechs are tough. Light mechs can run past the ENTIRE enemy team and survive with yellow armor. That is way tougher than any Assault mech. So yeah I think making assaults mechs a little tankier is quite reasonable.

The very fact assault mechs have to hide behind rocks is an indication that weight class balance is exceedingly poor. Assault mechs are supposed to trudge slowly across open terrain absorbing massive amounts of damage. They are not supposed to be afghani guerilla fighters popping out of rocks. Game needs fixing.

Well. The worst bit about getting hit by ballistics or missiles isn't the shake.

It's the smoke. Good luck hitting anybody if you can't see them through all the hits.

Have you ever played a light against a good sniper? Most of the time the light dies in one or two shots. Also those ballistics heavies are all fragile cheese mechs that die in two or three shots from any sniper.
No mech is supposed to trudge slowly across open terrain absorbing massive amount of damage, they're warmachines, not punching bags. Doing that is and has always been suicide in this game, and that's the way it should be.

Of course. But the cold harsh reality of MWO is that most players cannot hit light mechs. Because the skill required to hit light mechs exceeds the skill level of the average player, lights end up being much tougher than assaults on average. There simply arnt enough "good snipers" to balance that out.

Wrong. In battletech an assault mech can actually assault thanks to the randomized hit locations spreading out damage evenly. But when you take away random hit locations, balloon the size proportions, and allow pinpoint CT shots, assaults tend to die about three times faster than they should. And in battletech, going 151kph does not give you an invulnerability shield like it does in MWO.

Im not saying Lights are overpowered, because I dont believe they are, Im just remarking that the role of lights and assaults is completely opposite from how it should be.

LOL DAKKA post got modded....

This isn't even a thing, try not to take this thread seriously. AC/2 travels at 2000m/s that will hit damn hard, especially if I fire 3 at the same time.

The shooter also receives the smoke cloud, ask any Shadowhawk AC/2 pilot.
