You just cant please the low-survival-skills, entitled, generation that believes everyone gets a trophy and that Obamacare will take care of everything.
Stupid is universal, doesn't matter what forum they're on.

You do realize that this community is disgruntled, angry, but hellbent on having MWO not destroyed. Sweeping it under the rug isn't going to help anyone.

These guys do everything to harm MWO and PGI and consistently insult those who play the game. If they do not want to harm MWO then they are hiding this intention very well. They may sometimes write that they only intend good for the franchise, but every action they do, every word they write, is the exact opposite.

Wow so the new defend PGI at all costs mantra is if PGI fails there won't be any MW/BT games. LOL. BT/MW have been around before PGI/IGP and will be around long after. It sad the level people have fallen to defend PGI but one shouldn't be surprised.
If MWO fails, there will be more BT/MW games, if MWO fails I doubt there will be any more games from PGI/IGP. LOL.

Many of us have been waiting over a decade since MPBT:3025, and I don't want to wait to be in my 50s before I can play another MW title.
So, with all due respect to the OP and those over on the SC forums. Shut The Fu*K UP, I realize that you're young and you have neither a perspective of time, nor an accumulation of disappointments in your life, but for some of us, we've been waiting on this for a long time...
So if you have a legitimate gripe that is more substantial than your usual "PGI ate my baby", which has just become shrill and makes you all sound like petulant, entitled children with tourets that were just told they can't have their favorite candy bar and are throwing a temper tantrum the likes of which God has never seen... then get over yourselves and voice it.
But my money is on that you don't.

Are we ignoring the fact that there wasn't a developer for Mechwarrior for over a decade already, or aren't we? You might find a dedicated mod group somewhere again. But a real developer? I doubt it very much!
The hatred showcased in that thread over at CIG is mindbending. The ones arguing over there, twisting every information about MWO and PGI into something so evil not even the devil himself could have come up with it, are purely out to help the game and the poor misguided players who somehow still enjoy the game. Interestingly enough, at the same time the players they want to help, have an, and I quote, "intelligence score below room temperature" or are all IGP/PGI make up account so the servers look populated.
This behavior is what harms MWO way more then anything PGI did in the past. The thread over there is nothing but toxic to MWO, PGI and the playerbase and it is so purely out of hate and not because of some noble goal to save mechwarrior. If this is really what they believe, they believe in a lie they created themself.
If this is the way they want to save the franchise, they are doing it wrong. Why would anyone touch a product with a following as toxic as this?

Guess what, if this game fails it's not indicative that BT/MW games won't sell. It's indicative that the wrong company got the rights. There are clear lessons here for future developers. This game isn't having issues attracting new players because of the IP. It's because the developers have created an absolutely awful new player experience and haven't don't much to fix it. This game hasn't lost hardcore competitive players because of the IP. This game hasn't missed virtually all deadlines due to the IP. This game didn't stumble into Open Beta and to it's laughable "launch" due to the IP. This game doesn't have to hide player numbers due to the IP.
So why would another competent company fear to make another game based on the IP? They might fail to make the same repeated mistakes that seem like PGI hallmarks. What successful product has PGI/IGP been associated with.
You can't sell tutorials for MC. You can' sell new maps for MC, or modes. But you can sell new mechs and cockpit items. What do we have more of? So maybe the next try they may realize you can sell lots of other stuff if you actually have lots of players to sell to. Relying on milking a small number of whales is part of the blundering PGI has made.

I could probably point out at-least 10 or more threads here on this forum that are hateful and toxic. We're just desensitized to it here, I guess seeing it in other communities is "shocking". As for why anyone would touch it, well for the same reason other games with toxic communities are played, there are similar games out there but this one is the only "one".Hawken is mechs shooting eachother, but its not Mechwarrior, its Hawken. Someone would touch the IP, since "mechs shooting eachother" isn't a niche genre anymore, just go take a look at Titanfall. Someone willing to pick up the IP would do it, if push came to shove. But I dont want that, I want this game to turn the right way.

I haven't always agreed with everything you've said, but you hit the nail on the head here. I think the community [a large portion] is in the stage of denial that it'll get better if we just ignore the problem. The game development itself though is the problem, its being done poorly. Yea, I'm no developer, nor do I have any games made by me, but I can compare it to similar companies that do way better at listening and caring about their consumer/player-base and the "fun-factor" than this one. Waving silly sales for colors and XP boosts, and premium "Heroes" in our face with silly names doesn't mean you care, it looks more like an afterthought to distract us while you go work on something else. But the etch-a-sketch scheduling [ CW, & most of the content updates] and weird random features [Ghost Heat] are slowly draining the community.

I'm SO glad you're here to save us from ourselves! Where would we be without you to tell us how awful this game is?! We might *gasp* accidentally find ourselves... No... it's too horrible to contemplate, but it must be said. We might find ourselves /shudder ENJOYING playing the game.
No. No, it's too much. TOO MUCH!!!
So happy we have you here to make such useful and constructive posts like this:
