Haven't used Heavy Metal for a long time.

After all the patches & changes can anyone recommend a good brawler build?

Currently using:

3 ML
2 AC5 (wish I could fit an AC20)
2 SRM6 +A
STD 300

Thanks

Unfortunately after they gimped the Gauss all those hero and other variants we bought that used it got gimped as well. It forced us into a sniper role when we weren't one before. OR we have to trade out the previously superior Gauss for an inferior AC10 or double AC5 combo. Since an AC20 nor dual LBX10 nor dual UAC5s will fit.

bait and switch.

Let me know if you find a good brawler build.

I'm sure that there are better builds, but I've been trying this one out lately: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...33dddf352e877c0

It's okay for Pugging, and the LLs let you hit farther out with the AC's.

Took me forever to find a build i like but i never did find one as a pure brawler, i use 3 mlas, gauss or 2 ac5's, and lrm 20+art or load out of ssrms, and xl330. Works well in most matches. I figure use the xl330 instead of std 300 because once i get targeted its going to be over soon any ways so whats 2 more hits going to get me, when there is 4 - 8 mechs shooting you, You are not going to run and hide once that happens. Would rather have the speed of the torso twist and respond faster.

With the Gauss Rifle not as easy to use, the AC10 is actually a nice close- and medium-range weapon with great DPS. Its increased punching power (it literally throws targets back, similar to the AC20) and lower weight make it more fitting for a brawler than dual AC5s. Personally, I would take AC10+2xML+LPL+SRM8. It has a big standard engine for good speed and survivability, a powerful gun, a good alphastrike, and even some missiles in case you get lucky with hit detection. If you prefer really basic stuff, AC10+3xLL will also work.

Not really a brawler (what does that even mean anyway?), but I've settled on this build:

XL330
2 AC/5s
2 LLs
2 ASRM4s
4 JJs

It's ok. Not as good as the old Gauss + 3 LL build. I mostly use the ACs and LLs. I only use the SRMs if something gets close.

If you prefer STD engines, I think the OP's build is probably as good as it gets.
