High Elo Players - Handicapped With Hit Reg Issues

I too experienced this and initially thought the same as the OP. I'm being treated unfairly for succeeding in MWO.
However, i thought more about it and concluded that it was just players whom the server has bad connection with for one reason or another maybe pack frequency or something, they do not get hit as much as everyone else, therefore, they occupy the higher ELO matches despite not being good enough to be there, just that they get to be shot more than everyone else thus ensuring more wins for that player.
Still unsure... don't fully understand networking

yes i can confirm that my triumphs are based on beating worse players!

yeah i heard this one mentioned a few days ago and some people think it's true, i think it's just netcode to ping stuff.
i feel awful if that were true to try and push elo's down so MM is more likely to find matches for those players but really other than that it's a real tin foil job. no reason why pgi would do something stupid, obvious and detrementle for all players involved.
ATM i'm not playing the game until it's fixed cause it's coming to that unplayable point... and the weapon balance perceptions that come with these issues is also bad for the game. it needs fixing ASAP

Uh. No.
An Atlas or a Battlemaster standing still within 150 meters of you taking hit after hit and your crosshairs staying yellow (when they should be turning red to indicate a hit and damage counting) has nothing to do with newbies.
The damage isn't counting 50%+ of the time for many of us with high ELO. No matter the enemy mech. No matter their size. No matter their velocity. You shoot them... the shots bounce off.
I definately experience hit registration issues. I had not even considered it might be possible that the devs created a handicap like this. I assumed it was their broken game code. I just finished a game in fact where I was nailing the last enemy mech, a highlander, in brawling range, with my ac's. 3 out of 6 of the shots I made, hit the mech square on, but did no damage and did light up my crosshair. I ran out of ammo and had to finish the brawl with a pair of medium lasers, making it a far closer fight than it should have been.
However if you have confirmed that this is true, then that would be complete and utter bulls***. For them to back handedly gimp better players for any reason is almost criminal.
How wide spread is this so far ? How many people have confirmed ?
It's sickening to think about.

I can't speak for them but according to a post made by one of the Lords...

I've been trying to figure out what happened last patch. I <3 playing Superman in my Yen-Lo -- was running about a 3.5 KDR in it pugging after about...160 games? Now I'm at 3.3 with 175 games, which I think is a pretty drastic drop in performance. Now all of a sudden I'm losing torsos, arms are getting insta-critted, and I'm taking "ghost damage", as in damage suddenly registers but I never see the shots. I assumed they tried to "fix" the durability of that mech and borked it. My ping is consistently around 75-80.

I think you are approaching this from wrong direction, instead of assuming that PGI has somehow gimped high elo players could it simply be that certain playstyle is being employed more in a specific bracket that makes things worse (Or seem worse, but let's assume not)
I can see better players torso twisting a lot vs players not twisting so much, ducking and weaving etc. A lot of highspeed translational/transversal polygon moving

With the HSR in place, I would not think it impossible that some or all of these might actually be causing hit detection issues and damage being lost somewhere into HSR universe.
Unless of course you can 100% consistently shoot a standing still mech on one account vs the other not.
I find any such intentional hampering impropable.

Hm, ghost hitreg affecting pinpoint alphas as the newest "balance adjustment" between skilled and unskilled?
I'll just vomit on that blasphemy of an idea.

I'm sorry but i cant see them doing this.
imo its a netcode/hitreg issue.

It's not PGI's fault its yours. You were warned over and over and the funny thing is you thought the constant trolling and bombardment by the wrecking crew here on the forum would help keep things the way they are.
Your wrong. PGI can read too and figured out these are people not worth having.

Guess what, we're all having hitreg issues. And they're worse at peak times...pointing to hardware limitations IMO. We always take note of our shots that miss, but I also frequently see shots hit me, hear them hit me, but HSR says "no way sucka, that's a miss". If you notice HSR is not on your side, instead of alpha'ing another half dozen times in a row try chainfiring, or lead your shots, or otherwise change your tactics and adapt.
I agree that it sucks, but thinking there's a grand conspiracy against just you and a small group of others is, umm, well the seeds of mental illness I guess.

yes.

and i certainly agree about the hardware limits that's why netcoding has been a fairly prevelent problem for years, not just because some high elo's have shown up.

So why dont you show some proof?

You go a bit off the deep end sometimes but this is a bit much.
