The thing that usually gets me is people always jump to "You don't know what's involved." or "You don't know for sure that's how it works!" as defense when companies don't address small, easily fixed patches.

In this case I positively know what is involved, and know exactly how it works, and I am saying that the last couple patches could have come with the balance changes we need and ALL of them could have been accomplished in 5 minutes, and just added to the normal test cycle.

Now this leads to only a few possibilities:
  • They have all "checked out" either literally (vacation) or mentally ("relax time") without leaving anyone authorized to make changes in their absense
  • They think everything is entirely great with the game, because of the community manager's failure to relay this information clearly to them
  • They think everything is entirely great with the game, despite several major issues that come up over and over again and objectively, positively broken stuff like Flamers; likely from bubble testing.
  • They know they can fix it, but only want to save decent fixes for when rioting starts (See: SRM buff in the Ghost Heat riots, PPC nerf in the 3PV riots, etc.)
  • They know they can fix it but... loading an XML is really really hard you guys and I'm tiiiired.

I honestly cannot think of a scenario 6.

They're too damn busy with CW, Clans, and the Urbie? ^_^

Yeah, I know, it's literally a 5-minute fix, but if it's not on anyone's to-do list it won't get done no matter how easy or fast it is.

I think you need to calm down. Maybe its you who should be taking a vacation. Atleast go outside for a walk or something.

I seriously believe that the current LBX is a usable weapon. Triple LBX Ilya's can and will eat you alive up close. Dual LBX Jagers (albeit with backup weapons) can both put a quick end to "softened up" big mechs, as well as murderize light mechs. Dual LBX is my weapon of choice to deal with the pre-patch hitbox problems of the Spider.

Of course, I would prefer the LBX to lose some range (why does a shotgun get the same triple range as other ballistics?), and gain 0.1 damage per projectile (hint, hint, hint PGI!).

"They should take less than 5 minutes of effort per patch to fixing balance issues. Why isn't this done?"

"Wowa, wowa, wowa calm down there buddy. You should take a vacation!"

Yom: Ya know sometimes I forget why I play the game. I do it because of Mr. October.
Jenna Reed: You mean the guy from the Chippendales Calendar?
Yom: No that was Dwayne Zachemore... I mean whoever it was... Anyways, yay for Orions.

Fun fact: The LBX is NOT a modified shotgun, as far as the game is concerned. It's a modified Crysis grenade, with a shaped discharge so it will always scatter the shrapnel forwards.

Why do I mention this? Because it seems like it was designed originally to operate like table top - and thus could explode when it nears the target, shotgunning them from anywhere within it's effective range. I don't know why this got canceled and scaled back to be a traditional MW4 shotgun again, but it did.

Regardless, if they're not bringing that back, they could give it another couple pellets or a faster ROF or something to make it compete with the AC/10.

Anyway let's not get tied down in an LBX/10 debate. Let's talk Flamer, so we can stay on point here. Does anybody here think the Flamer is OK? OK then, I think we can all agree they could have spent 5 minutes with the flamer, don't you?

i hoped the new interfcace would come with this patch. I would love to be able to send messages to friends who are in game, like: "can we group up next game?". Right now you're sitting there waiting for green light to type a message. then you got to be fast enough before they are in game again. It can't be to hard to do it. i hope that this "feature" will be in UI 2.0

I understand that terms apply and I follow them. But your always going to get someone flaming and unless you ban ip address your always going to have people now be civil. Not trying to start anything. Just met as a joke sorry if I offended anyone.

How has NO ONE mentioned the "crotch=CT" problem fix for the hitboxes in this patch? I was afraid PGI didn't understand that problem when it was brought up in the ATD, but apparently they did, and here's hoping this gets applied to everything else.

No more CT coring twisted mechs by shooting pelvises. That's huge. And very, very good.

It's just an ECM bonus... that's it. ECM isn't really used for Countering (but they are already used for missile protection as is, so it's kinda silly IMO).

I'm sorry, I didn't understand. Are you saying that you only get the ECM bonus if you have an ECM mech and you've set the ECM to 'counter-mode' (and then successfully counter someone elses ECM)?

I don't play Atlas but surely you'd want a bigger CT and smaller Side Torsos as they get ripped off all the time, its pretty much what I aim for on an atlas, you can take 3/4 of its firepower most of the time. Is the CT that much of a problem? Like I said I don't play Atlas so if its a simple 'yes' then fair doos.

Yeah honestly as a d-dc pilot, i would have to agree that im a bit concerned with how vulnerable this is liable to make all other parts of the atlas that it needs to not just be a walking stump. It sorta feels like this is a nerf to the atlas, because disabling them by destroying side torsos was already pretty easy... why make it easier to disable the fire capability of somehting that already had its armor nerfed before?
