If this was a "$250k CBill fee to allow Artemis launchers" per mech, and then we could swap back and forth and mix-and-match Artemis and non-Artemis launchers, I would be all for it.

The way it sounds, though, is that it's $250k CBills to swap back and forth every time AND you need to have 2 set's of launchers w/ and w/o Artemis AND you can't mix-and-match. That's a super crappy implementation IMO.

You never could "mix and match." Either all your launchers had Artemis or they didn't. They way they're setting it up, sounds pretty much like the way it was in TT.

Okay, I have one question... why? What is the point of this? It creates management overhead for the user, and doesn't create more interesting gameplay decisions. It makes the mechlab game more grindy. Nothing else. Seriously, what's the thinking behind this?

It's PGI, if you can make it simple, do it the other way.

any chance we can get a refund of some wasted C-bills swapping to and from? even just a rounded arbitrary number?

So apparently they sneaked this into the patch without alerting us in time. Now we have to waste cbills to rebuy launchers with Artemis. Thanks PGI.

You need to waste money if you need to buy any other weapon that you don't own anyway.
Before the change, the cost would increase for every equipped launcher if you wanted to change. Now you just need to buy them separately or own them already like any other weapon.

I don't mind the change as it is more logical. However, a 500k rebate for all mechs with Artemis already in our mechlab would be nice
