My screen is shifted a little bit to the left, leaving about 5% empty black space on the right side of my screen. Is anyone else suffering the same thing?

Are you, by chance, using an analog monitor cable? (the one with the blue connector, rather than the wider one with the white connector)

I have a blue cable, yes, but it feeds into a white adapter out of the tower.

Chances are it has nothing to do with the game, and everything to do with using the analog monitor signal being aligned differently at different resolutions. Short-term, just check that your game is set to the same resolution/refresh rate as your desktop (preferably the native resolution of your monitor). Aside from that, you should definitely try to hook your monitor up with a digital cable of some sort, be it the white DVI cable (without adapters), or an HDMI or DisplayPort.
