seem like as a new player I'm only allowed to post in here.
Down to business. I would really like to join a corp. I would much prefer to join a corp that has a group of players from the Australia, New Zealand, Asia region since I live in Australia myself.
After my first few games I can tell it requires alot of team work and co-ordination. I am a fairly casual player but also like the competitive side the game/community can offer.
please help me find a corp/guild etc that has players that I can play with in my time zone.
Thank you

Captain Africa X, i would read through the different faction forums and the mercenaries forum, there are plenty of units and at least a couple i know off that run in your Timezones. Failing that try looking at the public Teamspeak servers such as Comstar NA and NGNG.
The information for those servers can be found here

i will take a look and see if there is anything that interest me thank you.
some groups dont seem to advertise they have aussie players but i can see they have them. this will take some time to read.
Unfortunately this is true, and partly because that some players originally struggled to find units, joined others that had some players online when they would play. Good luck though.
Check out some of the hubs. I know the Steiner Hub has a Teamspeak server and houses many different units that are on at all times of the day. I know the 5th RCT (my unit, link in my sig) has some Aussies and foreign players as well as US players who are on at different times. The Hub gives you a chance to mingle with other units without committing, so it's up to you to decide who you want to join (rather than applying and then finding out if you're accepted).

woah! i pulled this one out to end the night.
blackjacks must be op or something?
Nice game.
If you're new and you're good, you'll be playing with lower tier players to start, as the game knocks you down a teir or two durring your first 25 matches till it can establish a more accurate rating (ELO). If you're just good, eventually you'll run into better folks who will give you a tough time.
That said, the BJ-1(C) mech as constructed is very easy to use and quite deadly. It's a simple point and shoot mech that needs to hang with the big boys or pop over cover and fire at flanked enemies because it's not good one on one against most larger mechs. Nothing OP about it, but it's a good build in the current meta, and is easy to underestimate. Enjoy the success, and if you're liking it, it might not be a bad mech to start your ownership of (though I'd recommend buying a different BJ first so you can swap between the two of them and level both up and swap if one is stuck in a game.

Far from it. The AC/20 does as the name suggests, 20 damage. It's a nasty cannon with the strongest bite. Twin PPCs, twin AC/10s, or a single volley of 4 AC/5s are the only things that can compete in a single strike without "focusing the beams." The greatest thing you have going for you is that you're tiny, and your AC/20 is the size of an AC/2 barrel (...seriously PGI?). On any other mech that barrel would be as thick as your leg.
You'd get similar results with a similarly built Hunchback 4G (you'd survive more abuse too with 46 right torso front armor, 2 rear) or with any Shadowhawk. As a new player you're also fighting with ~mostly~ other new players who are still learning and not everyone is as quick to adapt. You'll find it more challenging as you go up the ranks.
Now you'd have to have a whole different gameplay style to get the same results from a Centurion, as they need more speed to compensate for their size and cannot pack an AC/20 (except a Yen Lo Wang).
(Hunchback)
Some other interesting results. Mainly for comparison.
Spoiler
Blackjack, 8 small lasers. Considered 3rd worst gun in the game.
Hunchback, LB-10 (5th worst), 2 MGs (2nd worst), 3 SPLs (4th worst). "Worst" rated by what people consider "worthless" regardless of fact or fiction
Catapult using 2 SLs and 2 ER PPCs (2 PPCs = 1 AC/20)
Trebuchet, currently the worst mech of all creation in the eyes of many. AC/2 + AC/5 + 2 Streaks. 2 tons of ammo each, always runs out of ammo. Always.
4 MGs (the second weakest weapons in the game) and 2 MPL.
You're doing well. But that same blackjack where I'm at... dies like a fly to be swatted. But that all depends on who is driving it.
