Weight limits will go along ways to making 12 man drops more fun. But to go one step further in battling metagame silliness you could also limit a 12 man team to no more than 2 mechs of the same chassis. Thanks for considering.. again this is only for 12 man ptemades. Not pugging

I do not want to see any restrictions on 12 man drops.

The weight limits they've mentioned are for premade teams in the normal queue.

12-man will continue as is.

Lobby matches will be for those that want to impose specific restrictions (in addition to other uses).

I know everyone gets super worked up about weight imbalance, but I enjoy taking my light out against larger mechs. There's something truly satisfying about beating a team that has you out-tonned by 200 or more tons. And there's nothing like taking down an Atlas in a light or a wolfpack of lights :)

I agree that weight imbalance shouldn't be a regular state of affairs, but if it happens, enjoy it! Have some fun with it. People need to learn to enjoy challenges.

Just being honest, my friend. Don't sweat the small stuff. I understand that weight imbalance is an issue if it's happening match after match, but if it's occasional, treating it as a challenge and having some fun with it is a healthy approach, at least. This is a game and we're supposed to be having fun, not elevating our blood pressures.

ETA: and we're not in agreement that "weight imbalance = large advantage", to be fair. It can be an advantage in the hands of the right pilots, but it can be a severe disadvantage to be super heavy in some situations, and it's at best a non-factor when you've got skilled light pilots.
