I can hit them slightly more often now, and even occasionally kill one (or at least leg one). Better but Locust are still easier to hit, so there's still work to be done on the Spider.

I can rack up 300+ dmg in a locust... Do not tell me how spiders are useless.

^^ What do you run for Locust? I'm looking for ideas.

Frankly its probably not the best choice for my first real forray into lights, but I've got them, so I gotta use em.

Hit and RUN. What is really fun is if you can get most current light mech build back's. You can follow them and just plug away with lasers as heat allows. Most of them don't run max engines. If you are being shot at you MUST weave unpredictably or you will die because it only takes 2 shots to the back to kill you. I've actually run through 10+ mechs in a clump and survived based on pure speed and unpredictable squirrel zig-zagging.

I like that build. I'd drop one ML and add another DHS. I may try that tonight when I get home from work

i hate to say it but its true, and i dont care how good a pilot is. they cant even survive one shot in a match now it doesnt matter how much armor you put on it. im just sayin.i might aswell 1) go in with no armor or 2) just cap .thats the only thing i see in a spider now, and there not even fun anymore and the spider was the only chassy i enjoyed. so yea thats how i feel i dont care what people say

Get better. 5 kills in my 5d last night. Next match 3 kills. Next match death. Next match 3 kills. Practice! If you *started* running a spider during the recent HSR issues, you're in for a long tough road. If you *started* when spiders were new you shouldn't have too much trouble adapting back.

Doesn't really need more DHS - just set up weapon group 1 with 3ml, weapon group 2 with 2ml, weapon group 3 with all of them chainfired. Take along an artillery strike to break 'em up. Once they're spread out, let one on the outskirts see you and start to follow. Remember to keep playing peek-a-boo with him so they keep following. Circle around and hit 'em from behind. Run away. Wait until you think its time to go back. Then wait 30 more seconds. Then pop in, hit him. Pull back. Wait. Wait longer. Go back, hit. Etc. etc. etc. The problem many pilots have is jumping back into action the second their weapons are ready to fire again. Everyone else knows exactly how long weapons take to recharge so they're ready and expecting you - so wait longer. Throw off their timing.

Scrap to scrap, junk to junk, may a flight of Jenners sing thee to thy retirement.

EDIT: Glad the Spider isn't the "Horrible 'mech, but it's got a broken hitbox!" mech anymore.

Oh boo hoo, you're not SUPPOSED to do 600 damage in a Spider. They're where they're supposed to be now.

Your using it the wrong way. I use my Spider 5K as a pure Recon / Artillery Spotter. It's fast, it can fly, it can carry TAG & an Artillery Module. On the defensive front, it has Ferro Fibre armour, Endo steel structure and an AMS.

Recon can be really important on the larger maps, especially if you stay in contact with your Assaults.

Mine is set up with Right Arm on right mouse button, Left arm on left mouse button, CT on 2 on my Naga with chain fire for the 4 arm lasers on 5. I can peek out one side of a rock and fire, shift to the other side and fire and never expose my whole body. Typically I use only the arm lasers and use the CT one for when I really need that little extra damage and will be breaking away to cool down anyway. I'm actually considering swapping it out for a TAG all the time like I do when spotting for friends.

Yeah I have a few builds where removing a weapon actually increased my damage averages.

Interesting, my Spiders still work just fine... They get hit more often when I do something dumb, but other than that there is absolutely zero difference.

And for the record, when I say "do something dumb" , it`s usually referring to the kind of situation that rarely produces a survivor, regardless of chassis. :D

Spider hit boxes were fixed, but hit registration is still not working correctly.

I can definitely tell that I take more hits now, but it's still not where it should be. I still see a lot of shots hit me but not apply damage.

If you can no longer pilot Spiders it's because you were too reliant on them being broken, and now they are less broken than they were.

You either need to adapt and adjust, or stop piloting Spiders.

Here here!
They actually get hit now!
